Just watched the game in a pub in Sevilla with a Spanish guy who told me he's an old mate of Rafa's. He says he's known Rafa for well over twenty years and they're still good mates. He emails Rafa after every game with his views on the match. Anyway he didn't say anything particularly juicy but he said that Rafa recently told him that he can't ever see himself going to Real Madrid. He just doesn't fancy it.

 

He also said that Rafa is very happy at Liverpool and one of the main reasons for that is that he has a great relationship with everyone at the club. He mentioned Rick Parry in particular.

 

I've a feeling the guy was on the level. There's nothing really new here but the Madrid thing is interesting as I think most people assume that Rafa wants that job one day.

 

Can a mod move this? Sorry.

funny that 'cos according to David moores, Rafa aint that mad on Parry - probably only in a business sense, I'm sure he loves him as a person, so as long as they stay buddies, everything should be okay

For what it's worth I think the bloke was genuine. If I see hm again I'll talk to him some more. He says he studied with Rafa. He's a fitness instructor so that makes sense.

 

He also claims to have played for Getafe.

 

And no, it wasn't Patrick. He was absent.

 

When you are finishd with him I need to talk to you about buying some ice in the antarctic and sand in the desert.
