he looks like a bulldog, he's obviously far too comfortable with what hes doing, and far too comfortable with making the worst jokes ever known to TV.

one example - the grass looks good at stamford bridge (or somewhere) OH NO FELLAS NOT THAT TYPE OF GRASS BEFORE YOU MENTION IT. how needless? but he is, for being what he is, a legend and consequently my MSN display picture for eternity.

I was flicking through the channels a while ago waiting for Letterman to come on, and I suddenly glimpsed Chiles, wearing nothing but a bath towel, in a scene from that awful movie 'Sex Lives of the Potato Men'! Made me feel pretty ill. On MOTD, he's calmed down a bit since those first few shows, when he had Ged on as a guest and kept cutting him off straight after asking him a question.

Was talking to a bloke (Liverpool fan) who works on football focus in the pub after the the Charlton match, and he was telling me that they got rid of Schmeichel because he was constantly arguing with Hansen and Lawrenson off set.

 

Apparently AH and ML are still avid Reds, and Lawrensen in particular purposely goes out of his way in his criticism of Liverpool on screen because he knows he is so biased.

Still doesn't get over the shot of the studio when we were playing in the UEFA Final and neither Hansen or Lawro knew we were being filmed. We scored, Jocky went nuts, Lawro bearly broke a smile.

Back to Chiles; When they were doing the Fulham-Chelsea rigmarole last week, he started on about diving and Chelsea in particular. He then said "I remember Joe Cole at Anfield earlier in the season, trying, disgracefully to get Steven Gerrard sent off by saying he elbowed him in the face".

 

Every other commentator was too spineless to even mention it at the time.

 

The BBC commentary is grim though. From Motson, wittering on to the studio 'in-jokes'. Pisses me off big time. Makes you realise how good Martin Tyler and Alan Parry are.

At halftime in the Chelsea game the other night, they cut back to the studio and Lineker was looking at his cuticles !!

Also, why the fook have 3 guests in the studio when there's only time for one of them to talk ?

 

Really poor coverage. And the sound department on the outside broadcasts need to be shot. Every game either Lawrenson or Motson sound like they're doing an impression of the teacher in Charlie Brown.
