Bailo Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Been hearing he'll be confirmed as next Newcy manager tomorrow from some Geordie mates.
Cunny Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I head his odds were cut from something like 33/1 to 5/4
Benitez Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Been hearing he'll be confirmed as next Newcy manager tomorrow from some Geordie mates. that particular rumour was dismissed a couple days ago apparently. Went down the same route as the Moyes one - a betting scam.
Bailo Posted March 23, 2006 Author Posted March 23, 2006 that particular rumour was dismissed a couple days ago apparently. Went down the same route as the Moyes one - a betting scam.Hmmm....my mate is on the sports staff of a big local paper and he said the entire staff have bought into Graham and laid off on Allardyce, who is another rumoured candidate. Must say I'd be suprised if GG came back into football after all this time.
MarkD Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 (edited) Supposedly 11am tomorrow - here's hoping so (financially!). http://www.ynwa.tv/forum/index.php?showtopic=91634&hl= Edited March 23, 2006 by MarkD

I'd forgotten about that threadand the story I was told by a Geordie mate is the same one as you, the sports desk at a local paper one! Methinks I smell fish somewhere, I'm not even sure if the lad I know even works for a paper now.... Hmmm....... Edited March 23, 2006 by Phorum Dunce
Stevie H Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 surely one of the most over-rated managers ever?
Earl Hafler Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 (edited) For the last 10 years or so they've had a decent first XI but the rest of the squad hasn't been up to standard. Shearer's decline in the last 18-24 months has been rapid and other key players in the squad would appear to be players who went there because Newcastle matched their wages. They need to give a manager 4 or 5 years to build a team but the boardoom and fans seem incapable of waiting ( probably because the last time they won anything, everyone played in black and white ) Edited March 23, 2006 by Big Stuff
Herbie von Smalls Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 surely one of the most over-rated managers ever?and one of the most underrated crooks ever
Leo No.8 Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I might tip it. Ireland's betting scam machine rumbles into motion again...
John am Rhein Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 surely one of the most over-rated managers ever? People were fooled by his winning the League twice. Little did they know
Earl Hafler Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 People were fooled by his winning the League twice. Little did they know 80's / 90's manager though. Bit like asking Graham Taylor, Howard Wilkinson or Billy Bonds to take the helm.
muleskinner Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I thought he didn't want to return to management due to his worsening arthritis?
