Sara Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 They kept us queueing for about 20 minutes and then decided they were gonna search us just before we got to the turnstile. Then, for us women we were then told to go somewhere else to be searched! One woman was told she couldn't take a small plastic bottle of water in with her. She was an OAP as well! FFS! Then when they'd searched us they wanted us to queue up again so we refused and they let us push to the top of the queue that we'd already spent 20 minutes in to get through! The whole thing was a shambles! I've been treated better at Euro away games by the idiot officials at them! My other half and the others had to wait the other side for me to be allowed through! I was so angry - and then so glad we f***ing stuffed em!
Elisha_Scott Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Worse thing for me was, I was outdide the turnstiles at 6.45 but I had to wait for my mate who had been to London for an interview, as I had his ticket. He got to the ground at 7.40, we queued up, loads of women who were right at the back, got told to come to the front to be searched and were then pushed into the queue in front of us by stewards. Ridiculous it was. I got through and was running down that ramp thing when Sami scored. I was fuming.
Sara Posted March 22, 2006 Author Posted March 22, 2006 They were totally unorganised. I can't remember it being like that when we played there in the league. I think we were searched further down the car park, and I know that I wasn't searched that day, just my fella was. They should have made it clear that women had to go somewhere different to be searched and kept one turnstile just for that, since they were being so awkward. As you say, it wasn't fair on folk waiting either.

Joshytoohotty Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I got there at 7:15 and it took me about 5 minutes to get in then. The search I got was no different to any other away game, just tapped down and waved to go in.
danny Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Just seemed the usual queues of getting into an away game any time after 20mins before kick off.

jon_hall Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Got in no probs at 7.10. Earliest i think i've been in a ground in England for ages. Even had time for a pint.

You went in about two behind me and there was some unpleasantness and insufficient lady stewards to search ladies. They only found out they had to move along the gates as they got to the front.

Must admit I never saw any of that. I wondered why they wanted women going in a different entrance but thought nothing of it. Deffo didn't take over 10 minutes to get in for us though, the way that ground's run it dosen't surprise me they f***ed it up though.
Guest Phil C Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Well I had complimentary at Villa cos my lad was our Mascot so I don't know about that (33's a bit old to be a mascot innit - hairy legs and all that?! ) Our problem was that on arriving the police agreed that we could all meet afterwards at out drop off point only for them to change their minds during the game and arrange a different embarkation point - problem was they never told us, the passengers. Result? 40 or 50 LFC fans walking the back streets of Brum for about 40 mins trying to find our coach....nice one the boys in blue!
IgPig Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 I didnt get searched..... Did it say Assassin on your ticket?
Joshytoohotty Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Still thoroughly amazed there wasn't any noticable aggro to be honest. Their s***house fans don't like getting beat and after the two pitch invasions I could see repeats of a few seasons ago when we f***ed them 3-0. I suppose they never bothered because they only had about 10 people left in the ground at full-time.
johngibo YPC Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 didn't see any problems getting in. thought it was quite a nice view of Birmingham all lit up as well.
jon_hall Posted March 23, 2006 Posted March 23, 2006 Wish you'd stayed away. Your pint getting technique took longer than our first two goals
