Ideas for a driveway

Any hints as to what I should look out when I invite the local cowboys to give me a quote?

 

No idea what surface to put down either. Its badly cracked crazy paving at the moment and the bit of grass at the front needs covering with something to put a car on!. Lots of trees around, with one overhanging the drive as well, so not sure if I fancy picking up the leaves off gravel every autumn.
