did he disappear from the football radar so quickly?

he went from being a really good player (for a long period of time) to knack all?

its bizarre.

with the exception of us he was a bloody albatross for every club he went too.

Spurs nose dived until he left to take Boro down and Everton almost went the same way.

Leeds fans must have hoped he'd turned that corner...

he had a rabbits foot didn't he. i remember it, especially in europe.

after a bad time with injuries and contract trouble he now plays for home town club Hull City

incredible fall from the england international and liverpool regular

leeds needed him off their wage bill and he would only go to Hull the agreement as i know was after 50 games Hull paid 500 k for him they couldnt afford it he played 49 and then never played for nearly two years until recently

not saying he didn't play well- he commanded some pretty steep transfer fees.

Just that every club's fortunes (bar us) plummeted during his tenure there.

read an article about him some months ago. He's taken a huge paycut to play for them, when he could have gone back to the prem, but wants to help them upwards.

Think it's a very admirable choice.

Thought he was a good player myself, always good for a goal, capable of popping up from nowhere, and you're a bit harsh on him regarding clubs taking a nosedive whilst he was there. He was part of Spurs 'famous five' or whatever the feck they were called, and they had a good time whilst he was there. Granted Boro and Everton were no great shakes whilst he was there, but they hardly ever were really.

Good honest pro.

injuries.

Always an intelligent player, I remember his knockdown to Owen in the 1-5 Germany/England game (The one where Liverpool scored all the goals :D ) many palyers would have headed for goal, and probably scored, but not he, he headed side ways and down to Owen and an empty net, brilliant. Didn't he fall out with Houllier when he had all his injuries?.
