Ratters Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I think he has the makings of a very good player.
CarraLegend Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I think he has the makings of a very good player. Shall we sign every very good player in the world then? How come you didnt make this thread earlier today, say about 7 o clock or something?
Ratters Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 (edited) Shall we sign every very good player in the world then? What a marvelous idea pinky ! How come you didnt make this thread earlier today, say about 7 o clock or something? As I was playing squash with my mate. I know your thinking its a spur of the moment thing but in all honesty I have been following him a bit since he signed for Norwich as one of my friends is a avid Norwich fan and has been banging on about him for yonks. Guz Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I like him and was glad West Ham took the gamble on him. Got to see if he can do it consistently though..

I have a feeling he can its very hard to judge some players when they play for mid table sides as when the side goes through a slump it can effect their chances more dramatically than a top four side.
Romario Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 It'll be interesting to see if he continues like he's started. Next Shearer if it all goes well for him.He a big bloke, has skills, plays it simple and has a great shot and an eye for goal. What could go wrong!...It's a gamble but the Hammers could have a brilliant player indeed!

Stanley Leisure Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Can anyone hear that? Its the sound of Ratters and Dean Ashton sitting in a tree etc...
Ombudsam Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Some people said sign him in the summer. These people are to be revered and probably bought drinks.
Ratters Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 Can anyone hear that? Its the sound of Ratters and Dean Ashton sitting in a tree etc... His monk spot puts me off a bit tbh
liverbird04 Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 every player that scores liverpool get linked too .
Earl Hafler Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Some people said sign him in the summer. These people are to be revered and probably bought drinks. We could play him alongside those up and coming strikers Brian McBride and Lee Trundle.
Kahnee Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Some people said sign him in the summer. These people are to be revered and probably bought drinks. In that case I was one of them
floyd Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Not exactly quick though is he?Rafa is not big on pace. Morientes, Crouch and Fowler could all be outpaced by my arthritic Nan.Cisse is quick though
Cunny Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 we should have signed him from Crewe, 2 or 3 years ago, when we had the chance
Stew F Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Rafa is not big on pace. Morientes, Crouch and Fowler could all be outpaced by my arthritic Nan.Cisse is quick though Exactly - we've been down the slow but quality route before. What we need now is someone to take us to the next level, not continue where we are now.
jimmylibel Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Just saw this thread and it got me reminiscing... whatever happened to the "Allow me to make a case for..." threads? A football forum classic if ever there was one. we should have signed him from Crewe, 2 or 3 years ago, when we had the chance He wasn't ready for us then (possibly still isn't). If we'd have signed him 2/3 years ago he'd have had to make do with reserve football and his progress would almost certainly have stalled.
Leo No.8 Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 He's a big strong lad with two good feet and excellent technique. Not as slow as people think either - I can see him progressing to possibly Spurs' level and maintaining a good scoring record. However, I don't think he's what we need this summer, and I' m not sure he'll ever quite be good enough to get into one of the top four sides. He offers similar attributes to someone like Beattie, who has been doing it for a few years now to be fair to him. He was flavour of the month much as Ashton is now when he properly broke through at Southampton...
charlie clown Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 we should have signed him from Crewe, 2 or 3 years ago, when we had the chance the scouts under GH took quite a good look at him didn't they and he was defienitely a player who we were interested in. I've got a few mates who follow Crewe and they were alway banging on about hin fro when he first started playing so I've always follwoed his progress. Good eye for goal and very strong but not entirely sure he is top 3 first choice material - Neil Mellor-ish in some ways.
RP Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 He's not what we need this summer, but he may well have been what we neeeded last summer.
Leo No.8 Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Sensai RP has indeed spoken Big Stuff. Coming soon - if Dean Ashton falls in the woods, does he make a sound...?
yellow jumper Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 personally think he's a better footballer then either defoe or bent. and probably a better goalscorer too. seen nothing of kuyt, but i imagine, from reports, that he's in a similar mould to ashton?
