As I was playing squash with my mate. I know your thinking its a spur of the moment thing but in all honesty I have been following him a bit since he signed for Norwich as one of my friends is a avid Norwich fan and has been banging on about him for yonks.

I have a feeling he can its very hard to judge some players when they play for mid table sides as when the side goes through a slump it can effect their chances more dramatically than a top four side.

It'll be interesting to see if he continues like he's started. Next Shearer if it all goes well for him.He a big bloke, has skills, plays it simple and has a great shot and an eye for goal.

He also can shoot with both feet which is a bonus.

Rafa is not big on pace. Morientes, Crouch and Fowler could all be outpaced by my arthritic Nan.

Exactly - we've been down the slow but quality route before. What we need now is someone to take us to the next level, not continue where we are now.

Just saw this thread and it got me reminiscing... whatever happened to the "Allow me to make a case for..." threads?

He wasn't ready for us then (possibly still isn't). If we'd have signed him 2/3 years ago he'd have had to make do with reserve football and his progress would almost certainly have stalled.

He's a big strong lad with two good feet and excellent technique. Not as slow as people think either - I can see him progressing to possibly Spurs' level and maintaining a good scoring record.

 

However, I don't think he's what we need this summer, and I' m not sure he'll ever quite be good enough to get into one of the top four sides.

 

He offers similar attributes to someone like Beattie, who has been doing it for a few years now to be fair to him. He was flavour of the month much as Ashton is now when he properly broke through at Southampton...

the scouts under GH took quite a good look at him didn't they and he was defienitely a player who we were interested in. I've got a few mates who follow Crewe and they were alway banging on about hin fro when he first started playing so I've always follwoed his progress. Good eye for goal and very strong but not entirely sure he is top 3 first choice material - Neil Mellor-ish in some ways.

personally think he's a better footballer then either defoe or bent. and probably a better goalscorer too.

 

seen nothing of kuyt, but i imagine, from reports, that he's in a similar mould to ashton?
