How many penalties (during the game or shoot outs) have you been absolutely confident we would score from in recent years?

 

I can think of only two "this is definitely a goal" moments.

The only one I've been comfortable is with Hamann's in Istanbul. Bizarre, I know, but I just had faith the Kaiser would find a way. The one I had the least faith in was Xabi's in Istanbul - I knew he was going to miss it, I just did. He didn't look happy waiting to take it, and it was all just too good to be true

 

Anyway, I bet Agger takes a cool penalty.

Both my daughters asked why he was taking one, to which I replied "Because he's German. Germans never miss penalties". The rest is history.

Penalties are a funny thing with me, I remember my first time in Anfield 1990 v Milwall, first minute of the game we get a penalty, I turn to me da and say Great a goal in my first few minutes of watchin the Redmen..Ten seconds later Beardsley skies it into tthe Kop.....
