Crazy Horse Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Good game from Warnock today, but I really want to pay tribute to the little fella's toughness. Every game he seems to get the s*** kicked out of him at some point, but he always gets up and carries on. Solano could easily have been red-carded for that elbow in the face. And did anyone watching on Tv notice that Warnock already had a beat up and bloodied knee at that point. But he just picked himself up and got on with things. I love his attitude, he's an example to everyone in the team. Just wanted him to get some acknowledgement for it.
anny road Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 i am not Warnocks biggest fan, but I thought he was excellent today
gkmacca Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 After what that lad's been through with injuries, it's a great attitude.
Gunga Din Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 i thought he was one of our best players today. probably his best game for us
stressederic Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 He was brilliant today. That wingback role may well be his best. He's tough in the tackle but we all know his positioning is a bit lacking. With Carra, Sami and Agger back there, he was able to really get forward, and put in some good crosses in the first half.
Stevie H Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 can't fault his attitude, and given his injury record he doesn't half fly into challenges. played really well today.
liverbird04 Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 I have never really rated warnock but he thrived on the system we played today ,got to see him attacking more than usual down the wing.
G Richards Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 I wonder if the links with Aurelio have made Warnock think he might be playing for his future?
anny road Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 i thought he was one of our best players today. probably his best game for us defo hos best game were you ringing me today? My phone is out of juice
Mad_Fer_It Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 think riise would be perfect for that role though thought the system worked out, at the beggining of the match hyypia was a little out of position, but the lads worked that out... only complain if there is any its that the wingbacks need to attack a bit more, stevie went missing at times too, good game for didi, kewell posed a threat the entire match, and I think crouch and cisse did their jobs...
Guest Red Mist Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Warnock should be in the England squad. Ashley Cole is not going to be fit for the finals and Bridge is also injured. There's nobody else to play left-back, except Warnock. He's a comitted player and decent getting forward, he'd be a useful player for Sven to take in light of the left-back situation. Knwing Sven though, he'll pick Ashley Cole even if he had only one working leg.
Bootle Buck Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Best game I have seen him in. Started off like a mad man down that left flank. He even looked pretty quick today.
Guest chiael Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Feel he is not good enough for LFC. But he had a great game last night and hope he continues his progress. Keep it up kid ! if he still is.
micmij Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Feel he is not good enough for LFC.I remember thinking the same about Carra.... Warnock has ability, is tough and is a local lad. I'd love to see him do a Carra and make it at the club long-term.
Ombudsam Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 i thought he was one of our best players today. probably his best game for us Leverkusen away was the consumate LB performance can't fault his attitude, and given his injury record he doesn't half fly into challenges. I think the two are linked Warnock should be in the England squad. Ashley Cole is not going to be fit for the finals and Bridge is also injured. There's nobody else to play left-back, except Warnock. Baines is better than him
XabisBadFoot Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 i thought he was one of our best players today. probably his best game for us Agreed. Stevie Warnock was great today. Nice on lad.
Bjarkinn Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Hope he carries on like that, great game yesterday
adiman Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 After what that lad's been through with injuries, it's a great attitude.you can see why he got those injuries as he always goes in hard. and you're right, credit to him for never flinching a tackle now
honourablegeorge Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Good game from Warnock today, but I really want to pay tribute to the little fella's toughness. I love his attitude, he's an example to everyone in the team. Just wanted him to get some acknowledgement for it. For a lad who's had TWO Cisse-style leg breaks, he's not afraid of a tackle. I thought wing back suited him a bit better, let him get forward, with less emphassi on hsi defensive frailties.
Knox_Harrington Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Baines is better than himIs right but he's got a lot of goodwill behind him Warnock - we all want him to come good and maybe he still can. The goal may have acted as a boon for his confidence. Might start Djimi against Birmingham but would definitely start Warnock against Everton.
Mike Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 he played wing back!big difference from the defensive responsibility of lb.he's not and will not be the answer.
So Cal Red Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 I remember thinking the same about Carra.... Warnock has ability, is tough and is a local lad. I'd love to see him do a Carra and make it at the club long-term. very nice points... Warnock's certainly got ability (imo, consistancy's the real concern: can he bring his game to every match?) & he also has that much-needed mental toughness (the "never say die" attitude)... if anyone, i believe he can do a Carra!!
Knox_Harrington Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 he played wing back!big difference from the defensive responsibility of lb.he's not and will not be the answer.Trying to be cheery here, Mike. f*** off with your so-called "reality".
So Cal Red Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 he played wing back!big difference from the defensive responsibility of lb. nonetheless, w/ solid efforts like yesterday, he can give us some good "possibilities".
