I said half way through the 1st half that we needed him on ASAP.

yeah, but 3-0 down. I dont belive any of you would have.all around me in the stadium where in disbelive as to why he had put hamman on and not cisse when we were desperate for 3 goals.

Yes because we couldnt get hold of the ball, Pirlo and Kaka were too good. But what about at 3-0 down? I didnt know who I wouldve brought on, probably Cisse or some other attacking option. He may have made a mistake in the first half but I'm not too sure many managers bring on a defensive midfielder and play a totally new formation to win back the game. It was a last throw of the dice but it turned out to be f***ing magic.

So much for 1 man upfront never working ;)

Logical imo, we needed to gain control of middle to win, the attack was not the main problem. Hamann is the Keiser in stopping quick attacks, his positioning and tackling was critical, from there on we had the opportunity to gain the upper hand.

Damage Kaka was doing, it was the ONLY logical move for that second half, whatever the score at the time. He was murdering us.

Aint hindsight a wonderfull thing i wonder what all you lot would have really said at half time??

personally i couldnt think or speak , i was in some sort of oblivious state

I love Stevie Finnan, but thank God he was injured. IIRC, Rafa would have gone with a 4-4-2 had Finnan still been on the pitch, but since he couldn't field 12 players, we went with 3 at the back.

The key was Gerrard and Garcia pushing further forward which pinned them back for a bit. For those 15 or so minutes anyway.

At first I really wanted Cissé on, just to try to score early and get something, but the only logical thing to do was putting Hamann on, cause he's the best in the buisness when it comes to stopping players like Kaká, we might not have a massive chance to win it, but at least we could keep our dignity - having the nerve to put him on is another thing though..

However if i knew that Finnan was injured i would have probably done it, but before that Rafa was gonna put Didi on for Traore, so credit where it's do.

If Finnan wouldn't have been injured i probably wouldn't have put Didi on, but i would definetly have had him in the starting line-up though, and was pretty shocked when he wasn't.

But it took guts to admit he was wrong, don't think many other managers would have done the same, I know a certain Mourinho who would have put players like Huth and Kezman upfront, simply manic and possibly even use all subs in half-time..

Wasn't he going to bring Cisse for Traore before it was confirmed Finnan was injured?

That's what I thought as well. Traore had a mare in the first half. I'm still amazed we offered him a new contract at the end of that season.

Quite frankly i would have been looking at the attacking options before putting Didi on and maybe that is why i would never cut it as Liverpool manager.

Anyway suppose Mourinho chose Liverpool ahead of the chavs and Rafa was their manager what do you think would have happened last season? I think the chavs would have won the Champions League and the Prem, Liverpool would have finished around 5th with no silverware, IMO.

Easy to say and difficult to disprove but I would have had Hamann on from the start. I never in a million years would have had Kewell on. I would have tinkered with the idea of playing Cisse to run at the back line.

Watch it again and listen out for the crowd reaction when Hamann picks the ball up for the first time just outside our box and turns away from Kaka and Seedorf (I think) and lays it off to Carra...ten thousand Koppites behind the goal are shouting "Is right!!! Thats what we need! Sit in there Didi lad!"
