"Hey! Thanks for playing in those earlier ties and helping us to reach a prestigious final where we stand to win one of the most important trophies in the English Game (well, it is now, anyway), can we have £70 please? Thanks..."

Last night there were reports that LG Electronics had withdrawn from talks about replacing Vodafone as the club's shirt sponsor. "It seems that they [united] are playing with media in order to raise the price in the bidding," an LG official was quoted in the Korean Times.

All very predictable, what with football club being a phrase not often used around there parts anymore.

Thought the quoted bit was the most interesting though.

I thought they had this gambling company Mansion all lined up and ready to give them world record deals?

Questions have been asked about whether the club's hierarchy have their priorities right, with senior players such as Gary Neville understood to be sympathetic to the grievances of their younger colleagues.

Now I thought that this was shocking at first, but then this sentence made me realise the thinking behind it.

If it pisses Neville off then it's surely a belting idea.

These players earn enough to pay their own way. Why should these already wealthy footballers get freebies from their employers?

I want the following to be read in the context that I really like Scholesy but...

His report read..."f*** me, boss. It was like there was two of him."

Dalglish did not get a ticket off the club for Istanbul did he?

He almost certainly chose not to go. I know a lad whose dad played for us as an 18 year old and he can get tickets immediately. He does have to pay for them but I refuse to believe that if Kenny put a call into Moores he wouldn't get a ticket. Also if Kenny wanted to go all he would have had to do was give Sky a two minute interview over there. It must have been his choice.

thats a bloody long walk for a 15 minute half time interval from Formby Hall Golf Club to Birkdale. Must be about 4 or 5 miles.

But if you go across the lake it's only about 12 minute walk. Kenny must of walked across that.

They should put meters in the players parking lot.

Funny you should say that - apparently they do have a permit holders scheme and they have to pay for the permits.
