Guz Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Is it too soft to hope our club doessomething in the way of compensation or somthing for the Blackburn fans who would have made arrangements for the 15th? Considering the game has been moved for the 2nd time and that it's on an Easter Sunday, I wouldve thought the rovers fans would be fuming.
Swipe Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 The original games was to be shown on Sky. Are they showing it now it's been moved, does anyone know?
Dominus Maximus Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 (edited) If not, would Blacburn want compensation? Edited March 16, 2006 by Crouchinho
Serko Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 (edited) "If people think it is better to change the date, then we will accept that," said Rovers boss Mark Hughes. He added: "It's a very emotive day, and we understand that. We flagged up the issue before anybody else, so we have always been receptive to every sensitivity there is about the actual day, and I think that will be the case again. "But we're mindful people have made arrangements, and the kick-off has been changed once. "If there is a real desire from Liverpool and the Premier League for it to be changed, and I think there is, then we have to go along with that. "I can understand that because this kind of thing takes priority over football" Edited March 17, 2006 by Serko
Guest Kev Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Great news, I do feel a lot better now that we aren't playing on this date. It still hurts though that we needed to be knocked out of Europe for this to happen.
Leo No.8 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Funny isn't it - Mark Hughes, who I thought was a complete c**t throughout his playing career, actually turns out to be a pretty decent bloke I've thought since he has become a manager...

I think Hughes has always been this way, we just hated him because he played for them.
anny road Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I think Hughes has always been this way, we just hated him because he played for them. i agree he was hard as f***ign nails, but I always respected him
Leo No.8 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I think Hughes has always been this way, we just hated him because he played for them. I think you're right Kev - people used to tell me that although he was a nark on the pitch, that off the pitch he was a real gent, and that looks to be true. He's doing a great job at Blackburn as well; they really are great to watch...
anny road Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 (edited) Mark Hughes in forgiveness by Scousers shock. he is just one who I had a grudging reepect for..... In the same way I have never really had an issue with Roy Keane Edited March 17, 2006 by anny road
Paul B Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 he is just one who I had a grudging reepect for..... In the same way I have never really had an issue with Roy Keane Well I have (had) a grudging respect for (looks round to see who's watching) Ryan Giggs and Brian McClair. There, I've said it...go on, hang me!

Paul B Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I liked Brian McClair as he was one of the first (if not the only) footballer to go to Nicaragua to teach kids football WHILE he was still a big-name player at United and while the country was still under the fat controller's wrath (America).

Leo No.8 Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 (edited) I've never had a problem with Keane myself, nor did I with Cantona or Schmeichel. Can't stand Giggs though - see I don't mind the eccentric, ranting 'don't give a f**k' types, it's the whinging little sly b*stards like Giggs and Ronaldo I hate. Every time a decision is given against United Giggs is there, no matter where on the pitch it happens, screwing up his face, pointing and whining into the refs ear... Unlike the greatest player we ever had who was, of course, not like that at all in any way and anyone who says differently is a lying b*****d oh yes-sirree-bob! No, the reason I like Giggsy (am I allowed to call him "Giggsy"?) is that he is always respectful about Liverpool FC whenever he is asked about us.
badtodabone Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Blackburn have behaved okay in this I think. certainly seems that way, well done
cymrococh Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 I liked Brian McClair as he was one of the first (if not the only) footballer to go to Nicaragua to teach kids football WHILE he was still a big-name player at United and while the country was still under the fat controller's wrath (America).I f*cking hate McLair and don't care who he taught football to. i agree he was hard as f***ign nails, but I always respected himWhen he played for Southampton at Anfield, he came to take a corner and started ripping the grass up and shouting at the Kop "This pitch is f*cking sh*t and it's always been f*cking sh*t".

The only reason he went there was because the ball from his penalty kick at Highbury landed there.
