still reading it all myself.

so far

on stadium

It is pressing and it is something we've wanted to get on with for a number of years, particularly since we've had planning permission. Having said that, we've been here for nearly a hundred years and survived.

on morgans comments at agm

what was overlooked was that we have a corresponding asset on the balance sheet as well.

on his own future after investment

I have made it clear that my position now and in the future is not the issue

on rafa

What Rafa wants to do is win trophies and be sure that the club matches his ambition, which we do.

on investment

Clearly we are working to raise the investment and we are confident that will be in place. We're confident we can demonstrate to Rafa that our ambition matches his own.

on funds

Clearly the distance you go in the Champions League does have a bearing on how much is available and it's silly to pretend otherwise. We're confident we can give Rafa the backing he needs.

on past transfers

There are one or two who, in hindsight, we might have wished to pay a little bit less for.

on new transfers

You don't tend to scout the World Cup for players. Often the odd one comes through who surprises people but by and large you know who the top players are before the competition starts and clearly you always want to get deals done as soon as possible to give you some certainty.

Answers as per what i expect. I have faith in our mangement team. Parry did not say anything at any stage about Rafa and the interest in him. He has responded in the best way. New contract which implies transfer funds.

Well in Rick, i for one applaud the no nonsense approach.

Everything else is as i expected and i truly believe every major decision this club makes should be well thought out eg do not go for the first person offering millions eg Thaksin

Nearly a hundred years? What's he on about, or am I having a thicky moment here?

On the scale of things 114 years is nearly a round hundred. Sort of.

oh really? and there's me thinking we should rush into these things

fabulous observation, just fabulous

Absolutely. We will in time hear how Rick Parry is a genius for bringing an investment deal to the table. I will not be agreeing with that assessment (in that it has taken a staggering amount of time to achieve), but by then hope not to care either way as I'll merely be celebrating the prospect of Rafa being armed with the money to buy some really good players.

I have heard nothing in a week or two - last I heard was that Rafa was not going to commit his future to the Club (and the Club were not willing to stitch Rafa up by promising him the earth if they didn't believe they could fulfill that promise, an angle that many choose to ignore!) and this interview and statement of intent from him leaves me thinking that something significant has come to a conclusion (or is very very close to doing so).

Hence the :woohoo:
