Lampard is sh*t. Ballack is alright, his best days are behind him though. Makalele is even worse than Lampard, a complete liability when you're looking to attack. He's a water carrier as a thick Frenchman once wisely said, and I don't buy all this b0llocks about Makalele being the reason why Chelsea are so good, or why Real are now so bad, blah, blah, blah.

Stevie and Alosno are better individually than any of Chelsea's current midfielders or even Ballack, and have the added virtue of not being greedy c**** whose careers revolve entirely around money.

No, but they've BOUGHT the title two years running, which is worse.

Sissoko is the man for us, he stops the othe team playing, Arsenal would never of done that to us if Sissoko had played yesterday, he would of kicked that little spanish f'cker all over the pitch

Sissoko was instrumental in our imporvement, one of the main reasons for it, we will miss him more than you think, people talk about the defence, rightly so, he was the first line of defence, he used to be everywhere the opposition midfields never got a minute on the ball - he is a brillaint player and we miss him badly

I would play Alonso, gerrard and Sissoko all day, we would dominate any midfield in the world with them three playing together.

What we need though is two world class wingers to play either side and someone a lot better than crouch to play on his own up front

:applause:

Dead right, I was watching it yesterday thinking the exact same thing.

As for Red mist's comment "Lampard is s***, Ballack is alright" dear me. Lampard will get 15 goals every season playing for Chelsea and I'll put money on Ballack getting close to him, their defence is bettter than ours at the moment and Makelele is better than Hamann period and just Sissoko at the moment. Out wide its no contest.

Goal threat from midfield is probably where Lampard-Ballack would edge it. It's probably quite close between Lampard-Ballack and Alonso-Gerrard, though, but a bit hard to judge since Lampard and Ballack have never actually played together and IMO Gerrard is more valuable pushed right with Sissoko alongside Alonso.

I'm not convinced that'll be their midfield actually.

I think he's going to go for Ballack, Essien and Makelele. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Barca really go for Lampard this summer, and I'd be equally unsurprised if Chelsea let him go (for lots of cash obviously, he's worth his weight in gold)

I agree. I think Sissoko is a better signing than Alonso and will go on to prove so. I'll get slated for this but I think Alonso in a winning team is a wonderful asset but Sissoko in a team fighting for the top is priceless. He's been our best signing in ages.

When we play three in CM, I think there's not much in it. None of Chelsea's players can pass like Xabi. Lampard and Ballack are smarter and a bigger goal threat than Gerrard, but neither is half as good defensively, nor do they put themselves about as much.

Essien is a poor man's Gerrard. He's maybe a little better than Sissoko, but he won't be in a year or two. Makelele is a top-class defensive mid, as is Didi. Maka might be faster and pass better, but he last took a shot on goal in 1993, and there's the Hamann crumple.

Essentially, I'd be very happy with either midfield. To be honest, I'd prefer Ballack to go to Chelsea rather than United. He'd make a much bigger difference at the Glazerbowl.
