During GH, i recall we also had problems in the strikers dept presumably due to his conservative approach.

Lyon under his care, appears to be the opposite! They cant stop scoring!

What has happened? Has he seen the light?? :o:o

You only need to look at the scoring records of players such as Stephane Guivarch, Cisse and Pauletta to see how easy it must be to score goals in the French league.

I think I was even top scorer there one season.

French league is sh*t. The point about Guivarch, Cisse and Pauletta still stands and has not been refuted properly ('main man' role, etc, is a poor attempt).

Didnt we score the second highest goals tally ever under GH when we finished second ?

No, but in the treble year we scored over 120 goals in all comps, which was pretty remarkable. Generally our scoring under GH wasn't great, but it's worse under Rafa.

the french league has the same number of CL quarterfinalists as the Premiership.. in the last 2 years the french league has produced one finalist in both the UEFA and European Cups.. Pauleta is a very good player, if youve seen him... French league is not the best in the world but its not s****..

oh btw Guivarch has won the world cup and failure at Newcastle does not mean a player is s****.. Tomasson and Saha failed there as well.. If only Morientes record in the premiership is used to judge him over the length of the career he would be considered s****..

On the contrary, it is notoriously difficult to score in. Possible the major league in Europe that produces the least top scoring strikers. To score 20+ goals in france is rather unusual, which made Cisse's accomplishment even more distinguished.

I realiese he's been sh*t for us, but it just makes people look plain stupid by trying to rationalise purchases in hindsight with statements like that.
