Guest Red Mist Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Was appalling throughout the entire game and then suddenly pops up for the equaliser. What the hell is wrong with him? I can't decide if I like or loathe the little man.
Swipe Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Get rid of him in the summer and replace him with someone who doesn't have tha naivety of a 14 year old. Abysmal.
Gerrardrules Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Luis makes easy things difficult and the difficult things easy. Frustrating.
gkmacca Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 I think he finished me at about 40 minutes into the game. He got the ball back to goal about 35 yards out, had a team mate facing him, one to the side, and he BACK-HEELED it to...no one in particular. He has great skill, but my god he's stupid sometimes.

He's 26 isn't he? There's no excuse for this kind of crap in his game. He's simply not good enough. If Rafa wants to keep him as a squad player, fine. But if he's still in our first team next season it'll be a joke.
gkmacca Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Luis makes easy things difficult and the difficult things easy. Frustrating. Spot on.
McBain Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Luis makes easy things difficult and the difficult things easy. Frustrating. I agree with all that except the making difficult things easy bit
Earl Hafler Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 I think he finished me at about 40 minutes into the game. And it's the refusal to cut out on stupid stuff like that which will prevent him from being anything other than a frustrating player. Good to have in the squad but we need someone more consistent.
Spion kop Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 typlical gerrard more like, how many times has he done that now?
Swipe Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 typlical gerrard more like, how many times has he done that now? For Liverpool? That's the first time isn't it?
Ian Mc Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 In his defence he's one of the few players in the squad who can actually win matches. Frustrating litle player but while he's on the pitch he can win games and score goals.
Guz Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 typlical gerrard more like, how many times has he done that now? erm, twice? Once for liverpool. Someone should really coach it out of him, he's making a habit of it really.
alias75 Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 He has been a useful player and showed his worth last season in the CL but hes by far the most frustrating player at the club. For a player with so much ability he makes so many stupid descisions and makes so many simple mistakes. His ability to do the spectacular is why managers will always give him a try but personally i hope we cash in on him and bring in a similar player that does it much more consistently like Aimar.
_00_deathscar Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Wasn't today the first time we lost in a game that Garcia scored in?
Zoob Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 He is frustrating as hell and needs to cut out the times he loses posession doing stupid things, but at the same time, he's scored 9 goals, tries to take people on and be creative, and for a player who hasn't started regularly this season and has been struggling for form, that's pretty good going. Wish he wouldn't surrender posession so easily, but his reading of the game is great - did it surprise anyone that he was the first to the rebound to score our goal? And if Crouch had got there, would anyone even have expected him to score?
Bootle Buck Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Crucial goals or no crucial goals he is a fecking appalling footballer to watch. He gave practically every ball away he touched. Fell over constantly and just drifeted around aimlessley. As usual he popped up with a crucial goal but it didn't offset his overall piss poor perfromance.

For the benifit of the team though I'd play him up front right now and hope he'd grab us some goals.

I don't care if he loses possession, you can't win a game with layoffs - bottom line.
Spion kop Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 erm, twice? Once for liverpool. Someone should really coach it out of him, he's making a habit of it really. thrice, he did it last season as well.

Kenny_ Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Why dislike him? I dislike players who's arrogant, players that got a crap attitude who don't put the effort in. Garcia always does his best, his commitment and workrate is spot on. Of course there's things with his game which frustrates from time to time but it isn't like he's doing it on purpose. Though there are room for improvement in some areas of his game, players of his type will lose possession at times because they're always trying to create things and make things happen. How can you dislike a player who's committed to the club? Tbf, today's football isn't exactly full of those among all the mega-rich, half-arsed popstars. Garcia hasn't had a great season but he's a player I'd like to see us keep.
Spike Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Garcia's game is a lot about having the options and quick movement from those around him. Our movement in general is appalling. We play very well as a unit but need those runs that create the space we need to play into
Mike Posted March 12, 2006 Posted March 12, 2006 Huh? the fact that garcia is our 2nd highest scorer.damning with faint praise doesn't come into it...
