XabisBadFoot Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Rafa and Garcia are quoted on the Liverpool FC.tv site as the lack of goals on Wednesday night being down to bad luck. Firstly chaps, Crouch hitting the ball at the keeper's legs when clean through wasn't bad luck. It was bad finishing. Carra's headed effort against the post was possibly bad luck. Garcia and Cisse looking like they couldn't give a flying sh*te wasn't bad luck, it was sickening lack of passion. Simao's goal wasn't bad luck, it was bad defending and a majorly fantastic finish. Rafa, we hold you in the highest esteem for what you've done for us, but please, please come out and criticise someone..?? Please..? Don't take us for mugs. YNWA, but kick some of these chaps up the jacksie - it just might do them some good..! *Rant over - gets breath back!*
Chili Palmer Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 I'm sure Rafa let them know exactly what he thought of their finnishing behind closed doors, no need to make it public, thats what we do...

I see what you mean, but I reckon he should go public occasionally. I really do. He comments on Morientes finishing really well in training, we don't win trophies at Melwood do we..? Sorry, just still seething about the chances we could have put away on Wednesday night.

I agree, sometimes fans would love to hear their manager come out and echo what is being said on here 'yes, Djimi is a bit of a lemon and will no longer play while I'm in charge' but Rafa has the longer game in mind he has to weigh up confidence in a player if he is called upon, future transfer fees etc. But yeah, I agree it would be funny to hear exactly what managers really think of some players.
Guest AnfieldGrass Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Do you really think by Rafa coming out and blasting players or anyone else will make a difference? It's easy to complain after the fact, not so easy to get it right beforehand, and as far as Rafa's reign goes it's EARLY DAYS. We still have an FA cup to lift .
Runehammer Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 I'm sure it would make some fans feel a bit better but it shouldn't be done, some players respond to that kind of rollicking whilst others will suffer a total loss of confidence and morale and a manager simply can't afford to have one rule for one and another for someone else - not publicly.
Eskimo Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Do you actually post anything positive or is it always he s****, he could give a feck etc...
growler Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 with the transfer window shut, destroying already weak players achieves nothing. Traore, Garcia, Moro, Crouch and Cisse will all continue to play a part this season, by choice or not.

He probably did speak his mind to the team. He's also said that its sometimes better to say nothing at all. Which is better than comments about 'bad luck' in the press by whoever made them. Because that sounds a bit lame quite frankly. Edited March 11, 2006 by roger
Guest lucabrasi Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 BBC:"what do you think of Garcia and Cisse?"Rafa:"They're fecking bags of s**** and I can't wait to get rid of them" It just wouldn't wash, would it.
anny road Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 its the internet, news frenzies world we now live in...People want to know everything about everything Nothing can be behind closed doors........ If Rafa doesnt slate his players publicly it means that he isnt trying to address the issue internally.....ffs... In a way it's the same with the investment malarky.....because people dont see a new invester being announced, it equates to nothing being done...when the truth is we just dont know what is happening
