CaptainXabi Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Two things: 1. Great news about Momo. However, I don't think he should pass up this opportunity to be allowed to wear eyewear (even though he's ok). I think he's look f***ing hard in an eyepatch, especially with the bald head and maybe we can get him a parrot. 2. Rafa definitely sees Stevie was his "new" right midfielder.

Kenny_ Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Gerrard Alonso Hamann Kewell. Wouldn't mind seeing that midfield on Sunday. That midfield four should be able to take control over the centre of the park. A main reason why we did so well at home against Arsenal. We may lack Momo, who did so well winning challenges and running all over the place in the home game, but we all know what Didi can produce in big games.
Jiggy Hates Jazz Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Sissoko? Who cares? Another s**** Benitez signing! Seriously, great news - made up for the lad.

I think thats what Rafa was indicating when he said about fewer games will allow him to play the same players, I think we will see Didi start every game until Momo is fit and Stevie will be back on the right, where BTW I think he and Finnan are the best Midfield/defender combination in Europe.
Kenny_ Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 and Stevie will be back on the right, where BTW I think he and Finnan are the best Midfield/defender combination in Europe. Aye. Both comfortable with the ball in their feets and both able to put in decent crosses. Gerrard's best position is probably centre midfield but he's shown before, especially in our great winning streak this season, that he's more than able to put in decent performances at right midfield where it's lots of room for him to use his energy in and roam all over pitch. It's been discussed before, but top class players don't need to play in their preferred position to produce the goods. It's all about what's best for the team and I think it's been quite clear to see that Alonso and Sissoko in centre mid with Gerrard on the right has worked really well this season. Atm he's the best option we got there. And it's not like we'll lose quality at centre mid with Alonso and Hamann in there.

Guest Jack Bauer Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Saw Sissoko on Wednesday standing on the touchline while the players were warming up, eye looks fine. Though I'd love him to wear Edgar Davids head wear or something.
MickeyDocs Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Gerrard on the right with the option to roam also allows a variation on the 4-2-3-1 formation, with Garcia and Kewell playing alongside him gerrard-didi-xabi-kewell garcia crouch or didi-xabi garcia-gerrard-kewell crouch
Ombudsam Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 It's not that big a deal that momo can run and "touvh" a ball surely. Isn't the issue whether or not he can see? It wasn't a leg injury.

It's not really about being able to run and touch a ball, it's about being able to run and kick the opposition players. Thats what Momo does best.

There have been a few matches since Jan where Gerrard and Sissoko have swapped right and central for at least a half, that's what I call freedom
Clay Davis Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Sissoko, whoaSissoko, whoaHe's got a dodgy retinaYou really shouldn't be bettina (gainst him)
