JohnBonham Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 How bout this to hassle the life out of the kids ReinaFinnan Sami/Agger Carra Warnock Kromkamp Didi Alonso Kewell Gerrard Crouch That would be my team as well
Guest Kev Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I would play Reina, four defenders and six midfielders because playing strikers is pointless.
Bailo Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I would play Reina, four defenders and six midfielders because playing strikers is pointless. Kev, honestly, what can we say to cheer you up?
Guest Les Howard Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Didi has to start alongside Xabi. Stevie on the right. Crouch and moro don't deserve to start after last night. It's gotta be Fowler and Cisse. I'm fearful about sunday. Confidence and energy levels look perilously low at the moment. I'd take a point now and hope the chavs beat spurs.
Guest Si Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Warncock went off with a hammy tho didnt he? Might not even be fit for Sunday
Guest Kev Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Kev, honestly, what can we say to cheer you up? Absolutely nothing. Arsenal are playing like the Arsenal of old, they'll be on a high after the 4-0 against Fulham and the result against Madrid. It'll be more than one way traffic in a one way traffic system in rush hour.
CarraLegend Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Arsenal are playing like the Arsenal of old Yep they're unbeaten in two games, what stunning stuff.
Guest Kev Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Yep they're unbeaten in two games, what stunning stuff. You know what I mean, the way they are playing again. Stringing passes together, running off the ball, neat incise football.
CarraLegend Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 You know what I mean, the way they are playing again. Stringing passes together, running off the ball, neat incise football. What for one game?
Guest Kev Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 What for one game? Two games, and it has to start somewhere.
JohnBonham Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 You know what I mean, the way they are playing again. Stringing passes together, running off the ball, neat incise football. I agree that Arsenal look good at the moment and that they play "neat" football. But they have been ALLOWED to do so. If we play aggressively and physically they will struggle, like they do against Bolton and Blackburn.
IgPig Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 (edited) We've rarely got anything there recently, and they'll be very confident. They've not been good this season away from home, but still look good at home for the most part. Happy with a draw on Sunday. I'd be tempted to go with Gerrard on the right as hes more likely to stop Henry's left wing runs. I'd give Kewell a try up with Crouch, but that might not be possible with Riise being out. alext Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 When we last played the a*** we had Sissoko winning everything. I think we will miss him massively in this game.
CarraLegend Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Two games, and it has to start somewhere. It also started against Boro when they won 7-0 only they ended up losing to the s****, going out of the League Cup, FA Cup and losing at home to West Ham. Dont see why an already negative person adds to the negativity by saying they're back to their best when theres nothing to prove that bar hammering a team with Zat Knight in it (Yes I know they beat us).

Herbie von Smalls Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I'd like to see Cisse and Fowler start upfronti'd like to see that permutation too - i think fowler has got the nous to form a rapport with someone of that pace. whether arsenal are the right opponents to try it out against may be another matter, but morientes and crouch aren't exactly overbrimming with confidence.
fred milne Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I'd have Traore at LB over Warnock. Seriously.I don't understand that at all. Warnock was reasonably competent yesterday, whereas Traore showed (yet again) that he can neither defend properly nor use the ball adequately.
Ombudsam Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 How bout this to hassle the life out of the kids ReinaFinnan Sami/Agger Carra Warnock Kromkamp Didi Alonso Kewell Gerrard Crouch I'd have that but bring riise back if fit and have Cisse/garcia on the RW
JohnBonham Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I'd have that but bring riise back if fit and have Cisse/garcia on the RW Riise is out for up to three weeks according to Liverpool.no
Cooldude Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 4-5-1 or variation of that Arsenal has struggled this season when teams pack it in front of the box and they pissfarting with passes trying to get that perfect goal. And you can really hit them on the break, too Didi, Alonso and Gerrard is our best midfield trio, Arsenal has had central midfield problems, although they've done better in recent times. Start those three and try to take control in the middle
