Herbie von Smalls Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 given his pre-match views on Anfield and how the atmosphere would count for little, i thought it was magnanimous of him to acknowledge that benfica relied on a degree of luck to beat a team like Liverpool. refreshing to hear Gerrard wish benfica well and for Rafa to be so philosophical in defeat - particularly when you recall chelsea's reactions to going out to a better team.
Ombudsam Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 what was said. I stormed out after we lost and straight on to here. I'd be a graceless manager by that evidence

meepins Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Gerrard wished their goalie goodluck and Rafa was saying that we created all the opportunities for scoring and the goals will come
Herbie von Smalls Posted March 9, 2006 Author Posted March 9, 2006 Yeah that makes the defeat so much betterah. lighten up he could've rubbed it in our faces, like his pre-match comments suggested he might.
Shanklyanfield Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Gerrard wished their goalie goodluck and Rafa was saying that we created all the opportunities for scoring and the goals will come They might have a chance of coming if he stops persisting with Nando!
