Herbie von Smalls Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 lyon for me, so Ged can stick it to his critics. if not, then benfica, so at least we would have gone out to the champions.
Gomez Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 lyon for me, so Ged can stick it to his critics. if not, then benfica, so at least we would have gone out to the champions.Bollx. Ged. Then Barca (probably the best team in the CL)after that I could care less, as long as the a*** don't win it.
Billy Talbot Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 best to get knocked out by the winners. I thought the buggers were excellent.
Herbie von Smalls Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 best to get knocked out by the winners. I thought the buggers were excellent.i'd stop short of excellent myself, they had a touch of fortune that the woodwork and poor finishing didn't make life tougher for them. though to their credit they did manage to squeeze us for space in the second half and there's not many sides have done so well at our place in european competition.
CarraLegend Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 (edited) Good luck to them. (I do mean to the the Champions league by the way, before anyone starts) They'll get t****** in the next round by whoever they play. Barca could/would rack up 10 against them on aggeragate. Guest TanMan Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I want Arsenal to win it because it'll rile the chavs and the mancs the most.

I didn't really men excellent. But in the second half of tonight. They really were suberb.
Guest Red Mist Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 They'll never win it. Unless they get Villareal in the next round, they are good as gone.
Herbie von Smalls Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 They'll never win it. Unless they get Villareal in the next round, they are good as gone.they weren't given much of a prayer for this round. i think the winners of the last two european cups have shown that the right kind of organisation and tactics can beat the fancied teams.
Romario Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 lyon for me, so Ged can stick it to his critics. if not, then benfica, so at least we would have gone out to the champions.I hope Ged does it too!
realtarragona Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I'd prefer Barca to win it for their football and Lyon to win it for Houllier but... Wouldn't mind if Benfica did. I thought their fans were good and it was nice to see them joining in with YNWA and the mutual applause at the end of the game...
FC Showster Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I think if you enjoy football and ignore all the tribal stuff then it has to be Barca to win now that we are out. Fantastic skill, fantastic players, and fantastic club. Hope they don't spoil their shirt with sponsership next year
Whitey Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Honestly don't care now that we are out! Me neither. Probably won't even bother to search out the games over here in Canada, which was half the fun.
Poolfrog Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 best to get knocked out by the winners. I thought the buggers were excellent. I thought they were very average and they don't have a cat in hell's chance of getting past the next round they weren't given much of a prayer for this round. i think the winners of the last two european cups have shown that the right kind of organisation and tactics can beat the fancied teams. Last night was nothing to do with organisation or tactics. We got past their defence enogh times to have the game won by half-time. They rode their luck, we were incompetent. They'll go out next round. End of.
Suth Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 best to get knocked out by the winners. I thought the buggers were excellent. couldnt care less but Benfica are never going to win it, they are not good enough. they will get knocked out in the next round.
psl Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Lyon then Barca. At least it won't be Chelsea or United.
surf Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I hope Ged wins it with Lyon. I hope Milan don't win, as then they'll have won 2 cups more than we have.
SouthAfricaRed Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Lyon I hope. Anyone except Milan really. I dont want them increasing their Total Wins.
