Bootle Buck Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I think Benfica will struggle to come to grips with Crouchy's height and touch tonight. I think in the first leg they handled Fowler and Morientes fairly comfortably. I would like to see him play a similar game to the way he played against Betis away were he caused a lot of problems for them early on. To be honest I would like to see him run himself and their defence ragged for the time he is on the pitch. If we could get 60 minutes of Crouchy at his best, I think we will score 2 or 3 goals. Let's hope the referee keeps an eye on things and he doesn't spend a lot of time being wrestled by Benfica defenders(unless it's in the box). He showed last Wednesday for England too that he can be as dangerous when he comes off the bench against a tired defence.
Fagan Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 i think crouchy will be on the bench tonight. i think robbie and moro will start
Guest Kev Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 That centre-half who scored was not troubled once in the air in the first leg. I would have thought playing Crouch would be an obvious choice tonight.

crisps Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 think our forward line should be ----alonso----gerrard-----cisse------garcia------kewell-----------robbie------------ no point putting crouch up against luisao even though i'd be happy to eat my words

psl Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 We've scored 6 goals in 7 games so far. We need a third of that tonight! Come on boys!!
Stevie H Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 crouch does more than just be tall. he's capable of dropping deep and pulling their centre-halves about to create space in behind them which gerrard, kewell, garcia et al should exploit. think their most important player is that lad petit, so stevie g's going to have to have a good night to keep that guy occupied.
