fyds Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Young Paul Anderson is on the bench. That could be a canny move as he's a fine crosser of the ball, a bit nippy and an unknown quantity to Benfica
DanielS Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Wasn't it Le Tellac v Juve that caught them off guard?
Ed the Wool Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 A member of his family is walking round our office in a state of delighted shock.
Benitez Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Wasn't it Le Tellac v Juve that caught them off guard? He looks about 12 - he'll certainly catch em off guard 17 years old, born in 1988, ahhhh makes you feel old don't it.
AE Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 A member of his family is walking round our office in a state of delighted shock. Lets hope he is even happier tomorrow when the lad has scored our 5th goal
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Wasn't it Le Tellac v Juve that caught them off guard?Still wonder about that...was it to use an unknown quantity? Was it coz Rafa rated him - although rarely used him again afterwards?
Falconhoof Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Fantastic news. Hope he gets the chance to play a part.
Walrus Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Still wonder about that...was it to use an unknown quantity? Was it coz Rafa rated him - although rarely used him again afterwards? There weren't many alternatives to be fair.
Alonso Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 There weren't many alternatives to be fair.I'd have said it would have been between him and Barragan unless we went with 2 GKs on the bench
Ed the Wool Posted March 8, 2006 Author Posted March 8, 2006 Lets hope he is even happier tomorrow when the lad has scored our 5th goal Asked how he would feel about Paul taking a penalty tonight if it goes that far. The colour drained from his face. Hope he does bury one tonight that would be brilliant. Le Tallec's game against Juve was probably his finest hour for us, he really looked like he could be a player. I think it was attitude that ruined him. Too much praise too young.
Phil236849 Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 le tallec's been a bit of a nob, but you have to feel compassion and sympathy for anyone sent to sunderland on a season-long loan
IgPig Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 good luck to the lad. Be surprised if he gets on, but just going with the team and being on the bench will help him in the long term. Suppose this means he must be getting close to the 1st team now.
Bigal Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 According to the bbc, barragan is in the squad. He may have been injured though
fyds Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 It would be a fine night for all those chances we make to actually start going in.
Guest Scouse Kiss Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Lets hope he is even happier tomorrow when the lad has scored our 5th goal ... after he's handed his Tommy Tippee cup to Benitez, crossed the white line and the ball rebounds off his a*** into the Kop goal.
BigBird Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 It would be a fine night for all those chances we make to actually start going in. According to stats broadcast after Your On Sly Sports last Monday, Liverpool have scored the least number of headed goals in the Prem this season (2) yet have recorded the most attempted headed goals (104). Strange stat considering we have Crouch and Fernando up front.Lets hope it?s due to poor quality crosses which young Anderson can remedy.
Bootle Buck Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 He looks about 12 - he'll certainly catch em off guard 17 years old, born in 1988, ahhhh makes you feel old don't it. I've got underpants that old.
Gilps Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 He looks about 12 - he'll certainly catch em off guard 17 years old, born in 1988, ahhhh makes you feel old don't it. Christ. I'm still stunned when people born in the 80's aren't still in school, never mind people born as late as 88.
fyds Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Christ. I'm still stunned when people born in the 80's aren't still in school, never mind people born as late as 88.I feel that way about people born in '68.... Poor Murph must be rolling in his grave (practice makes perfect)!
gkmacca Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Players at this level are so clued up on the position I always like it when we've got an unknown on the bench. And he's a really promising performer, so it's a good move as far as I'm concerned. I just hope we can bring him on when we're coasting to victory. (Already feeling sick with nerves. )

Crouch is a poor header of the ball - he's a knock-on specialist. When was the last time you saw Morientes attack a cross? that's a shocking stat though, although I can't say i'm too surprised Edited March 8, 2006 by Big E
Bjarkinn Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Excellent news.. This lad looks very good... Only a year older than me which is shocking, then next year i will be in the same steps
