Come on, it's confession time.

Two years ago, how many of you wanted Mourinho to become Liverpool manager?

He was a c***, is a c*** and always will be a c***

Posted (edited)

I did

But only coz I never thought it was possible for Rafa to leave Valencia after winning the La Liga and UEFA Cup with them

I was happy that we got Rafa, but at that stage I wanted Mourinho ahead of him purely coz I rated him as the best youngish manager around at the time.

I was still f***ing over the moon when we got Rafa though

Thank God we didn't get the c***, he's become even bigger an egomaniac since his Porto days

I was thinking this myself last night during the game. Loads wanted him even after half his first season at Chelsea when you would have thought he's exactly the opposite of everything Liverpool.

Depise him and the chavs down to pure arrogance, i don't even think Ferguson was ever worse.

If only we were good enough to win the league, he might just f*** off then.

I once had an argument with Cobs where I held the position that Mourinho did not have a plan B. I was totally wrong. Its just that plan B involves hoofing it up to 2 big men up front rather than just the 1. In my defence, its an easy tactical masterstroke to miss. The guy can motivate, but he cannot make the changes when it counts. So pleased I was never on the Mourinho bandwagon.

I didn't but only cos he wasn't irish.

Had a conversation with a life-long Chelsea fan this morning. Talking about the game and in fairness he conceded that Barca were the better side over two legs. I aked why José couldn't say that after the match. His response was 'because he's a pr1ck'.

They went with an attacking format but simply couldn't rid themselves of their functional mentality that's proved so successful domestically. I have been saying this for a while, that that type of game can only get you so far at that level.

Yeah, only so far as winning the League with a record number of points.

and the Champions League with Porto

Yes John, I remember the conversation we had, but that's how functional they are.

And Cobs, just look at the Mighty Porto now. I'm sure Kenyon is looking for something a bit long term.

Give José another season, at best.

you confuse me Cobs

why do you back him time after time

it's a bit wierd

just stating what i think is blatantly obvious

Yes he's an arrogant t***

Yes he's an ungracious prick in defeat or victory

none of that means he's a schite manager, tactically naive or his team 'can only get so far playing that way at the top level'.

All the evidence points to the contrary. I feel compelled to point it out. No biggie.

what a chit chant.

Anyway, as for Maureen, nope, never wanted him anywhere near this place.

Alan Curbishley was the man for us

Graham Hunter was on the radio over here this morning and he was saying that he spoke to one of the Chelsea players and apparently Mourinho announced his team on Monday night to the squad, changed it the next morning and then changed it again in the afternoon.

Wasn't exactly confidence inspiring or for that matter the usual practice of 'the special one'.

Don't think he is tactically naive, but I do think his sides are tactically inflexible.

Fair enough Cobs, but what about shoving a reserve centre back up front to get them a goal. Not the first tme he's done it but smacks of idiocy from the so-called 'special one'.

But Cobs he HAS been caught short tactially ...twice...two years on the run

I am not saying he is a s*** manager

But you cannot deny that in two games..the semi v us and Barca this season he has been outgunned by the opposing manager, and has shown his own limitations

He set his team up last night as if it were the 1st leg...He needed to score twice.....They kept saying what an attacking line up it was, but it nullified them as an attacking threat as Lampard and Makelele sat deep...Robben is no link player...When he makes his changes...he goes like for like and takes an attacker off....He also doesnt start with his no.1 forward.>Crespo v Drogba? Please........anf finally, when it is make or break he goes back to plan B......Hoof it to Huth

For someone who is supposedly a master tactician he is showing himself to be short of Benitez and Rijkaard

and had Gudjohnson's Banjo to cow's a*** radar system been working in the last minute at Anfield that balmy night last May.....

- Mourinho obviously thinks Huth's a weapon that can be used upfront late on in matches.... hardly unheard of to stick a big lad upfront to unsettle defences in the closing stages of matches - Sven's done it with Crouch to great effect in his last two games - and yes i know Crouch is a striker but it's been his height that has casued problems for defenders

what is the big deal?

Anny - Mourinho got the better of Rijkaard last year and it's reversed this year - and let's not mention Benitez overall record v Mourinho since he joined us, eh? It's a knock out cup - everyone seems to be talking like Chelsea would waltz it if only their manager was a bit more tactically astute - i don't buy that. I got in last night to see the latter part of ITVs highlights show - look at the Juve game but for a shocking goalkeeping error in the last minute they'd be out and yet they could well go on an win the thing now, such are the vagaries of football, managers and tactics count for only so much - the vast majority of it is down to the players.

Ah, but that was different. Back then he was the high priest of Brazil-esque -inho-ending football who was going to teach us Anglo Saxon neanderthals how it's done.
