I've read most papers today and they are gunning for them. As far as football is concerned the papers just go for the story as far as i am concerned. I wonder what Chelsea fans make of it all. They've never been here before. Do they genuinely reckon that everyone just hates them for no reason or do they at least acknowledge some substance behind it?

Of course they have - just not since Mouninho or, perhaps, Abramovich arrived.

 

Few clubs have experienced more general dislike than Chelsea over the years.

 

Still for 98% of their fans it WILL be a new experience. Expect a torrent of letters to the press from various Surrey suburbs.

I was chatting to an ex work colleague of mine who is an avid Chelsea fan, a few weeks ago he was asking why does everyone hate them so I explained about the history, fans, class, conduct off and on pitch which sets other clubs apart from them.
