Its not the 23 you have to worry about.

 

There is very little dabate about the squad.

 

It is what he tells them to do on the pitch that bothers me.

 

Engalnd have a very very good squad but a very unbalanced midfield. Cole Becks Gerrard and fat frank is not a balanced midfield As such it ends up the 4 midfielders all doing whatever they feel like, Playing for themselves only. I would drop either frand or stevie and play parker as holding midfielder but sven does not have the balls to do it and relys on individual skill or luck.

Although inexperienced i would still pick Lennon over another central midfielder like Jenas.

 

In Parker and Carrick you have two holding midfieders and in Gerrard and Lampard you have two attacking midfielders...Why another midfieder like Jenas who probably wont play?

 

In Lennon you have a pacey winger who can make things happen, another version of SWP, would be a healthy substitute.

 

Downing still a good call but think Lennon just edges it in for a place in the 23.

 

Agree that Lampard/Gerrad partnership isnt the balanced combo and carrick/gerrard would be my first choice.

Hibbert - He needs to learn how to pass a ball first, I think it is quite an important skill for a football player, althought I suppose he can get away with it playing for your boys.

 

P Neville - Again needs to learn how to distribute a ball. Perhaps in the England squad he won't feel the need to pull rank on the rest of the players like he does at Goodison. One of the funniest things I have seen was Phil giving Valente a right old b******ing. Poor old Valente, he used to be a decent player and is getting told off by a yard dog who thinks he used to be a decent player. All those attempted 50 yard "Beckham like" passes which go out for a goal kick are cringe worthy.

 

Beattie - Interesting choice, he has been scoring a few goals this year so good on him, but he is a bit of a liability. He might headbutt one of the opponents in an important game.
