We have loads of chances and don't score much with tons of possession at the moment. What will happen when / if we come up against the likes of Barca and we only see the ball for 30 seconds when they feel like letting us have it? We don't seem to have that counter-attacking knockout punch we had last season.

Or, to put an anny road hat on, are we the kind of side that can starve others of possession these days so we wont have to worry about making the most of scraps?

i dont think Benfica are good enough to dominate possession

and to be honest I think that we have to chase it a little means we will start with a high tempo....

I can see us getting one early on and battering them

but then thats me

...but if we do batter them then what happens if we come up against Barca or Milan? Will 5% possession kill us or do we have the side to play keep ball just like them?

I'm confident about Wednesday - The Kop will suck that ball into the net a few times even if our strikers can't hit the target, it'll go in one way or another.

The word on the streets however, is that Kev is said to be 'very worried' about Wednesday.

He's also presently worrying about Rafa leaving, Garcia leaving, bird flu, Al Qaeda, the recent hike in gas prices, Brokeback Mountain missing out on 5 out of 8 categories for which it was nominated and the resulting effect on the gay community, whether joe Calzaghe will go up a weight or stay in the same category, the lack of adherence to the ban on fox-hunting and a nasty little spot on his chin.

"The likes" of Barca, and possibly Juve are the only teams (of 16) left in the competition that could really make us chase the ball like you say, and we all know what happened when we met Juve last year - our high tempo "up and at em" approach did for them, just as anny road has said.

Our forwards will score again soon. The 11 match run before and around Christmas was no fluke. If anything, it's the likes of Xabi and Garcia, and maybe JAR that have dropped off a bit, but if they can raise their tempo to an appropriate level then the rest of the team will be dragged along with this.

I know it sounds Irish (but I AM Irish), but I'm more worried about Benfica than who we MIGHT get in the last eight. I think if we can get past Wednesday and beat Birmingham in the Cup, then momentum will grow again. Players will be rested as it becomes clear how certain we are to finish 2nd (or 3rd/4th).

I was watching the Road to Istanbul DVD last night and it struck me that JAR said that before the second leg of the semi final all the players were up for it and everybody was saying "we cannot lose this game".

What are people's views on this - should players be up for it for every game and is that the difference between teams that win leagues and teams that don't.
