Where is it?

 

I've managed to get a room at the Britannia Hotel and I'll be driving up from London on Wednesday afternoon. What time do you all get to the pub before the game usually?

 

I'm keeping my fingers crossed about the ticket for the game but it looks about 75% right now. Are there any spares available there usually?

 

Leo, Wayne, Dude, Oakfield Red, will you be there? Anyone else?

 

Looking forward to meeting you finally. Leo, will your old man be with you?

 

Not looking forward to Thursday. I'll be all day outside in the sand dunes in Harlech. From the looks of the weather I'll be freezing my b*llocks off.

It's on Oakfield Road mate. Near the chippy.

If you walk past the kop (with the Kop on your left) you will see a garage (fuel station) forecourt ahead walk up that road with the garage on your left and keep going. The pub is massive, on your right on the same road as the garage but about 2 minutes walk up the road (garage on your left Anfield behind you).

 

I will be knocking about from about 3-4pm, well pssed.

Wednesday seems a good day to make my first visit to the Oakie as well mate, so I'll be there. I work in Manchester, so I'm going to see if I can knock off a bit early to get myself there in decent time.

What happened to the famous Oakfield tradition, spoken of in hushed tones, in which a secret initiation involving all the regulars buying new visitors a pint takes place?

 

It's sad to see such a great tradition go by the wayside, particularly after I've just gone to all the trouble of making it up...

I heard you the first time. I land at 6.25-ish with BMI or 5-ish with BA but I may not get away in tie for the BA one.

i usually drink in the sandon, but it is to busy to get a pint. YOu can be queing for about 30 mins before you get served. I was thinking of moving down the road to the oakfield, is it any better there?
