or maybe it is people who dont have a sense of perspective and are caught up in the frenzy that makes everything black or white....draw at home and it has to indicate something deeply wrong with us...it cant be just one of those games

I heard someone coming out of the game on SAt saying our home form has been s*** this season..I almost chinned him

Defo, some of it is embarassing.

Perhaps it comes from the fact that we're such a big club that we're always hungry - not just for glory but that we strive for perfection.

Or maybe we're all a bunch of whiney f*cking bitches who don't realise how lucky we are that we support the best club on the planet...

no no....you have to go on and on and on about all not being rosey....and that the manager is on the verge of quitting or that the pies at ht are too hot and how everything would be fine and dandy if Parry f***ed off and we moved to a new stadium and and and and

I am sure it was easier going the game 20 years ago despite all the crap that used to come with it

The parry thing does f*** me off. I mean the guy has done alot for the club both good and bad, but some of the blame people throw at him is ridiculous. "sack parry, for his illigal war on iraq"

I came out of the game yesterday thinking, OK we didn't score but apart from that we absolutely chinned them and I was feeling quite upbeat about Wednesday. Got home, logged on here and 10 minutes later I was in a state of depression....A computer genius somewhere needs to invent virtual Prozac so I can get through the day's posts without the need of a straight jacket and some rubber wallpaper....

I have to say that I was utterly frustrated after the game yesterday but there is no point in complaining too loudly about it. At the start of the season we'd all have grabbed the position we are in and it's amazing the confidence we now have in the team that we're looking at the few points we have dropped with disappointment. Sure our strikers could be more clinical but I think that the overall team performance is being lost amidst the media frenzy about the strikers.

We dominate teams now, completely dominate teams. Charlton hardly saw what our half was and next season when Rafa has another transfer window under his belt we'll be that step closer to being the team he wants us to be. As for the remainder of this season, someone is due for a hiding from us and I hope Benfica feel the Charlton backlash.

It's not all one way or the other though is it?

The implication in these threads is that dissent won't be tolerated, which is equally tedious. We're having a good season but we don't have to be happy about a home draw to a fairly toothless Charlton side.

Don't know why it must always be 'with us/against us'

People can draw whatever implications they want, I just wish that the 'gushing praise/damning criticism' wasn't so extreme. It's either cloud nine or the fires of hell, there doesn't seem to be anything in between with some people. This week it happens to be fires of hell but it could easily be the other way....

Scot

we drew a game....only the fourth game at home we failed to take maximum points from.....You dont win EVERY game...it doesnt happen..it didnt happen in the 70's and 80's.......People need to roll with the punches from time to time

As for the other thing..."dissent wont be tolerated"....go and read the Ballague thread....

I am sorry but it isa ridiculous that people who try to stay positive are branded as ostriches who cannot see the wood from the trees

See even I am doing it now...Stay positive,.,,ffs,,,,Things are positive,...it's rubbing off on me

some on here are only happy when they are moaning

You and Kev are just about cancelling each other out at the moment. Postive - negative = balanced. It'll be okay if misery guts cheers up (and a miracle), but God hlep us if you start slipping onto the dark side.

It's because of a few issues:

1. Rafa not categorically denying interest from Real etc. and saying he wants to stay here longer than his contract.

2. Parry and Moores being ambigious regarding investment and stadium talk.

3. Our goal scorers ...or lack thereof.

And then next year it will be....

1. Rafa not signing a 10 year extension

2. The Stadium taking too long to be built

3. Our inability to beat every team 5-0

For some the glass is always half empty.

1. I am not sure he would.....and I dont think he has too....Anything can happen in football, and Rafa is probably using the current situation at Madrid to try and gert further funds...I dont deny that...Thats why the press are heavily involved. I would be more nervous if things were totally silent. As for extending his contract, 2 yearsd is a long time and i dont think anything would happen until next summer on this

2. If there is no concrete news then what can they say...It doesnt mean they are sat on there arses

3. I get frustrated by this, but I know that in reality it cant be addressed until the summer so I am not going to come on here screaming every week...And certainly not when we are 2nd in the league and doing ol in 2 cup comps

dont get me wrong......I know I am over optimistic...I always have been....but it winds me up that if you are positive it is deemed that you are burying your head in the sand

Not being funny, but I would rather be like me than constantly banging my head against a wall and looking at the downside of everything all the time

Can't remember if I asked sutty for a ticket or not.

oops

And if you're pessimistic, worried and concerned it is deemed that you need a reality check and in some cases a bulls***ter and/or s***stirrer and hope Liverpool fail so we can say we are right.

depends on the level of pessimism i suppose

i just dont understand why people are so damn negative

maybe its a problem with me

Trouble is, a lot of people with very balanced views have been talking about certain issues that need addressing within the club, be it at the team or at board level for f'cking ages - whether we win or lose....

Do they start threads on how bad things are when we win ?

No.

We played some cracking football during that run and now we are playing inconsistent football - reminiscent of the Evans era, where we passed teams to death scored goals yet conceded nearly every attack.

....except now we're hardly scoring and not conceding.

Very frustrating.

will be there.

So not that reminiscent.
