Herbie von Smalls Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 can't remember the name of the programme. but tomorrow night sees the start of a three-part series on bbc2 where des tutu hosts separate meetings between three convicted norn iron paramilitaries and their victims' relatives in the spirit of the 'truth & reconciliation' committee in sooth efricah. should be powerful tv. the concept of confronting such transgressions in the manner it was done in SA is one i've advocated for norn ireland. if for no reason other than to promote some kind of understanding for the political/sectarian divide. obviously, there needs to be a large degree of remorse on the part of the perpetrators, rather than giving them a platform to justify their actions.
