Guest Jack Bauer Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Why the hell do people post these little one line snippets? Everytime I see them in the papers they're literally in a little corner with other s**** like "Ballack to Chelsea, Man Utd miss out." or "Ronalindho in talks with Chelsea"

Guest Jack Bauer Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 It won't happen, and if it does I will hunt Rafa down and stab him in the nuts.

David Hodgson Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 There's no way he'll go to Real with Perez in charge. Despite the fact that he's from Madrid, that they're the worlds biggest club, would pay him a fortune and would give him any player he wants, there is still no way he'd consider Madrid, because......Perez is in charge........except.......he isn't.
magneto Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 To those accountants out there. Is Rafa considered an asset on our Balance sheet?

I still think Wenger is more likely to be tempted than Rafa at this time.
Benitez Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 I still think Wenger is more likely to be tempted than Rafa at this time. why would Real Madrid want Wenger? He's losing his marbles big style!
JohnnyH Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Anyone who completely dismisses this is deluding himself. Perez is gone and Rafa loves Real Madrid. Put yourself in Rafa's shoes. You are managing Madrid but Liverpool come calling. Would I want to leave a club I have no emotional ties to and joint the one I love? I would.
Benitez Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 here's the Mirror 'exclusive' (always them innit) 2 March 2006EXCLUSIVE: REAL FEARS AT ANFIELD OVER RAFABy Alan NixonLIVERPOOL are facing a fight to keep Rafa Benitez - as Real Madrid's new president Fernando Martin Alvarez wants him to be the club's new coach. Benitez has jumped ahead of England chief Sven Goran Eriksson on the wish-list of the Spanish giants after the shock exit of Florentino Perez. The Kop boss was reluctant to push himself for the job because he knew former supremo Perez likes to sign superstars like David Beckham - at odds with Benitez's team-building style. Perez believed Eriksson was the ideal man for the post with the galacticos because of his own jet-setting image and lifestyle. But now he has gone, a major change of direction is on the cards. Benitez would rather work with team players than big names - and that may be the new approach under Martin. Benitez had a long spell with Real as reserve coach and it would be a massive lure if they came calling. Liverpool could expect a huge battle to keep him. Former world rally champion Carlos Sainz says he is considering standing for the presidency of Real Madrid at the next elections in 2008 - although Perez's departure could prompt an earlier poll. ere innit
Red2Core Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 I think rafa will leave one day but not till his Anfield project is finished.
psl Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Ah well, there's always something to worry about. How long till the 'Gerrard unsettled by Rafa rumours' stories?
fred milne Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 why would Real Madrid want Wenger? He's losing his marbles big style!I don't think he is at all. Admittedly, Arsenal are a side in transition, just as they were between 1999 and 2001. However, I've no doubt that given time he will build another strong side at Highbury. As for why Real would want him - I'm sure they'd approve of the style of football his teams play and don't forget his in-transition side have just beaten Real at the Bernabeu.
forde Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 (edited) The fact that Alan never gets anything right about lfc Nixon writes the story means there is not much to worry about for the time being! Edited March 2, 2006 by forde
Athelstan Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Madrid is a total basket case- only a mad man/greedy bas***d would go there now. Over to you Sven

Mebbe the aesthetics would be enough for Real. But he's been a damp squib in Europe for 10 years now, I just thought Real would be looking for a more Yero savvy coach than Wenger. BUT, if he somehow FINALLY is succesful in Europe this year - then yep, I hope they go for him

What a ridiculous statement - I'd say Rafa's 'emotional ties' are probably as strong with us now as they've been with any club. No emotional ties indeed - where were you in Istanbul Johnny?
