Benitez Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Zenden sets sights on role in Reds run-in Feb 28 2006By Chris Bascombe, Liverpool Echo BOLO ZENDEN remains on course to make an early return from a cruciate injury having stepped up his rehabilitation this week. The Dutch international hasn't given up hope of playing again this season. Zenden hasn't played since November 23 when he damaged ligaments during an innocuous incident with the last kick of the ball against Real Betis. Now the 30-year-old is desperate to push himself into contention for the climax of the campaign. "I started running on the treadmill for the first time on Sunday," said Zenden. "I hope I'll be able to do some running on the training ground sometime in the next week. "It will only be running in straight lines at this stage, but it's a start. "I still hope I'll play again this season." ere
Kahnee Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 good stuff - with Kewell returning to form, we need someone else to slag off and blame
fred Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 Zenden is also a good favoritism backup for Rafa in case Morientes should start scoring...
Herbie von Smalls Posted February 28, 2006 Posted February 28, 2006 i wonder if rafa had bolo turn up in his full kit under a full moon at midnight
Nerik Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 We miss him. He was hitting form when he got injured and had got a couple of goals for us. I really hope he comes back to play a part in an important part of the season such as an FA Cup final, Champs Lge final or the final push for 2nd place.
Leo No.8 Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 I've said it before and I'll say it again - he'll play in the Champions League final! History is destined to repeat itself...
L19red Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 (edited) I've said it before and I'll say it again - he'll play in the Champions League final! History is destined to repeat itself... History will repeat itself but not like this. This year just like last year we have a centre forward who signed in the january transfer window and will watch us from the bench because he is cup tied as we go on to lift a Cup. This year its Cardiff in May brains bitter instead of efes and rugby ball shapped rissoles instead of kebabs. Edited March 1, 2006 by L19red
