Zenden sets sights on role in Reds

BOLO ZENDEN remains on course to make an early return from a cruciate injury having stepped up his rehabilitation this week.

 

The Dutch international hasn't given up hope of playing again this season.

 

Zenden hasn't played since November 23 when he damaged ligaments during an innocuous incident with the last kick of the ball against Real Betis.

 

Now the 30-year-old is desperate to push himself into contention for the climax of the campaign.

 

"I started running on the treadmill for the first time on Sunday," said Zenden.

 

 

"I hope I'll be able to do some running on the training ground sometime in the next week.

 

 

"It will only be running in straight lines at this stage, but it's a start.

 

 

"I still hope I'll play again this season."

We miss him. He was hitting form when he got injured and had got a couple of goals for us. I really hope he comes back to play a part in an important part of the season such as an FA Cup final, Champs Lge final or the final push for 2nd place.

History will repeat itself but not like this. This year just like last year we have a centre forward who signed in the january transfer window and will watch us from the bench because he is cup tied as we go on to lift a Cup. This year its Cardiff in May brains bitter instead of efes and rugby ball shapped rissoles instead of kebabs.
