Earl Hafler Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Rather him than Josemi How about having every man back defending a corner against 10 men ? Not a particularly good performance but 3 points is what matters.
fyds Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Fresh and fast legs - don't see the problem 47 games into a season possibly only just two thirds done.
Guest Kev Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 I don't like making a tactical substitution in the defence so late in the game regardless of who it is.

My dad goes mad every game that we don't leave a man up

Earl Hafler Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 I feel the same as your dad, there is no need to drag everyone back. Leave one at least upfront. I hate it. I can understand why Crouch comes back but having him and Morientes back doesn't help their game. Same as constantly sending Carra up for free-kicks / corners and then passing the ball into the Kop.

Barnesy_10 Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 I remember Houllier bringing Biscan on against City a few years back when we were winning... it triggered off all the boo boys..
Big E Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 The example in recent memory is Kromkamp coming on at OT, and then getting caught out for their goal. I'm not a fan of late minute changes to protect as result, especially when they alter the defence.
anny road Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 i thought it made sense they were lumping it long and he is better in the air than Riise and Kewell He won 2 late headers too Leave it to the manager eh, he knows what he is doing

Guest Kev Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Leave it to the manager eh, he knows what he is doing No, it's been obvious over the last 18 months he hasn't got a clue.
realtarragona Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 I'd prefer to leave one man up but I'm sure Rafa has already worked out the statistics between teams defending with all ten men, or just nine, and how many goals are scored on the counter attack and so on...
Bootle Buck Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Must admit the sight of Djimi coming on at 88 mins put the proverbial shets up me. But he did OK.
