Barnesy_10 Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 26/2/06 the worst atmosphere in a footy match ever! absolutely piss poor!
Shanklyanfield Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 26/2/06 the worst atmosphere in a footy match ever! absolutely piss poor! Not sure if sky only had there mics down by the City fans but that's all I could hear singing!
Benitez Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 I don't think you can say 'worst atmosphere', just 'no atmosphere' would cover it!
Guest Jack Bauer Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 I thought maybe they moved the mics because of the Alan Smith stuff, because at times it sounded like only about three people in our end were singing.
Barnesy_10 Posted February 26, 2006 Author Posted February 26, 2006 I am sat near the dugout so pretty much equidistant (sp?) to both away fans and Kop.... there was just nothing heard from the Kop all match.... its terrible... pretty embarassing to be honest. I thought maybe they moved the mics because of the Alan Smith stuff, because at times it sounded like only about three people in our end were singing. nah... thats what it was like. seriously..
Guest Jack Bauer Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Jeez...uz. Premiership games are always piss poor because they don't sell at the window to locals.</controversy>
magneto Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Was piss poor in our pub as well. Are we playing too much footy?
Benitez Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Was piss poor in our pub as well. Are we playing too much footy? not drinking enough alcohol pre game more like
Guest Jack Bauer Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 It's crap for most Premiership games, I can think of only two or three last season even.
Jim D Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Time of kick off certainly added to the drab atmosphere.
Guest Jack Bauer Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 It's barely better for 3pm kick offs.
Barnesy_10 Posted February 26, 2006 Author Posted February 26, 2006 yep, I understand the time and everything like that, but the scary thing is that there are 44,000 fans in a small area and its deadly silent.. I heard Agger have a go at JAR at least twice.. and they were on the opposite side of the pitch to where I was... we couldn't have been any quieter if we had tried.. to quote the mancs today it was just like being in church.
Kahnee Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Thought it was an absolute disgrace today - outsung by the away fans virtually the entire match. Dunno why I bother attending two games a year if that's all that's gonna happen And to add insult to injury, some drunken Irishman was molesting people in the pub afterwards...
Vlad JNR Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 (edited) The atmosphere has been s**** at league matches for some time. (years rather than months). Recently however, it has been at times, uncomfortably hushed. After nearly every home league game (with possibly 2/3 exceptions per season) there has been mention on these boards of the dissappointing atmosphere, so it should be no shock to discover the atmosphere was again, today, crap. I don't know what excuses can be used for us today; early start, hangover, lack of ale, etc But one thing that can be said was that the City fans were great (apart from the predictable "sing when your robbin" jibes) At one point they where singing "Where's your famous Kop" (or similar), and "Worst suport we've ever seen". And to be fair they weren't wrong. Edited February 26, 2006 by Vlad JNR
libero Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 i'd just liek to stress that the drunken Irishman wasnt me Makes a change then.
oakie bob Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 us locals didnt like the early kick off.............i mean i had to stagger 2 flights of stairs to my romm at 5am
Kahnee Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 i'd just liek to stress that the drunken Irishman wasnt me Bit hasty with the denial there
Guest Kev Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 How can you expect people to clap when their hands are full of plastic bags, video phones and digital cameras. How can you expect people to sing when they are talking into their mobile phones or texting or taking pictures.
cymrococh Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 blame the oot.Yeah, a 12.15 kick off would be full of OOTers.
matty Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 How can you expect people to clap when their hands are full of plastic bags, video phones and digital cameras. How can you expect people to sing when they are talking into their mobile phones or texting or taking pictures. Bit harsh on Will...
magneto Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Blaming the time the game kicks off is like Chelsea fans blaming their loss on Barca's flourescent shirts.
mickdundee Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Dont get me started on people getting up and going to the toilet or getting some food before half time. And the c**** that go after about 85 mins, pisses me right off that does.
