Redwire Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Sorry about the dodgy Google translation: An EMISSARY DRILLED To HIM And The TECHNICIAN GAVE The O.K. Real Madrid calls to Rafa Benítez JOSE FELIX DIAZ. Madrid Real Madrid moves thinking about the next season. It is already known that still the name of the trainer of the next season is not determined (Expensive Lopez is not discarded but its continuity is now something quite improbable because the equipment has failed in the two more important appointments that it has had with the Andalusian in the bench: Zaragoza and Arsenal), but the white sport direction already is moving and looking for the trainer who puts according to all the madridismo. One of the names that have handled the white directors from the good bye of Luxembourg has been Rafa Benítez, present trainer of the Liverpool of 45 years. It is not the only name that has appeared in the list that in its day Fabio Capello headed and in that also appeared Mourinho and Wenger, but Benítez is the one that has happened to occupy the first position and the first approach already has taken place. Mark can to assure that a white emissary has drilled the technician to know his disposition or not to become the next trainer of Real Madrid. Answer has be positive, since Benítez sees with good eyes the possibility of returning to which it was his house and to take advantage of the opportunity to direct to the white club, where already directed two seasons to the branch. Certain he is that Benítez has three years more of contract with the Liverpool, but the leaders of the English club could not close the doors to Benítez if finally he reaches an agreement with Real Madrid. They know that after the success harvested with the conquest of the Champions they could not deny the desire to him that it has to train to the Madrid, at which it would arrive with guarantees to gain Liga, Glass of the UEFA, Champions and Supercopa of Europe among other titles in less than five seasons. Reporting line From the draftee of Owen and the later crossing of Morientes to the Liverpool, Rafa Benítez has reporting line with one of the chiefs of a main directorate of Real Madrid. The syntony is good and the mentioned chief of a main directorate has been of whom more and better the Perez of the excellence of Benítez have spoken to Florentino. And it is that the name of the ex- ones of the Valencia has been either in several occasions in the head of the president of Madrid, but in the end diverse circumstances restrained the interest, or by their draftee by the Liverpool or because Madrid showed preference for the continuity of Luxe. The madridistas leaders see in Benítez a technician who knows to remove to the maximum the yield to his players and that has taken to equipment like Valencia and Liverpool to gain titles when they had been moved away years of the fight. In Madrid he counts on the endorsement of Butragueño, Benito Floro and Ramon Martinez, that is to say, the madridista sport direction. They value the ability to work and the mentalizado thing that has its players at any moment. The information also elaborated emphasize of him the optimal result that it obtains in his equipment. The doubt is to know if Benítez will have, as it happens to him in the Liverpool, the whole freedom at the time of doing and undoing in the draftees, paper that has assumed in the English club from its arrival. http://www.marca.com/edicion/marca/futbol/...llo/622840.html
Romario Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Just read this : Sky sportsRafa should be using this as leverage to get more money to spend on players.
R A Softlad Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Parry should be using this a reason to tie Rafa up to a new 10 year deal...

Foo Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Let's hope Real won't manage to lure him away from Anfield. Would a very good choice by them and a very bad day for Liverpool. Lock hom to his desk in his office only to leave him out on matchdays.
Spanish_fan Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 This time MARCA adds: "We can assure you that an official from Real Madrid contacted Benitez to ckeck if he was available to train Real Madrid, and the anwser was positive". So either they are telling serious lies or Benitez told someone from Real Madrid that he would be willing to join Real Madrid.

Rafa has said he would love to eventually coach Real Madrid. They may have taken that, since it's a positive inidication of his desire to be at the Bernebau and twisted it to make everyone think eventually is this summer.

The article clearly states that Real Madrid have contacted Benitez and he is willing to join them. Whether true, twist or whatever i don't know.
Guz Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 I've always wondered about this story. Rafa's Valencia and Liverpool play a style of football that the crowd at the Bernebaeu (and the powers that be) would probably hate with a passion.

That's very true but in times of famine (trophies) they may resort to this type of measures. Remember they signed Capello who is in a similar mould to Benitez.

Now I wouldnt believe and agent either, but lets not miss out that he has denied it and said he is going nowehere eh
Stevie H Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 i think rafa's too intelligent to put himself at the mercy of a comedy club like real and of a lunatic chairman. parry excepted, natch.
Guest YKI Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 (edited) Didn't see the link further up the thread, sorry. Edited February 25, 2006 by YKI
Guz Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Offal now, Rafa has rubbished the speculation for about the 200th time
Keita Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 (edited) Parry should be using this a reason to tie Rafa up to a new 10 year deal... Didn't we do that after Ged won the treble, then we are f***ed financially paying him off. Caution is the key Edited February 25, 2006 by Como Setas
Guest Kev Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Any worried that the denial has come just a tadge too quick ?
realtarragona Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 I'm not remotely worried. He'll probably manage there one day but he's not exactly coming to the end of his managerial career. No reason for him to want to leave. Rafa should be using this as leverage to get more money to spend on players. He's had a decent amount already to be fair.
£440,000 Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Any worried that the denial has come just a tadge too quick ? The official denial is very wishy-washy. I'm sure there's nothing in it but it'd be nice to have something to have a little more solid than all I'm thinking about is the comptetitions we're involved in now. Unless that's Rafa trying to bargain with the club. Personally I think he'd be a fool to take the Real Madrid job right now and he's certainly no fool. He can go there at any time.
Rahul Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 Any worried that the denial has come just a tadge too quick ? For gods' sake kev. Ten seconds later and you would have said it was too slow in coming.
liverbird04 Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 raffa actually said that he wanted to reassure liverpool fans by saying that he hasn't been approached I am more concerned about his answer when he is officially approached but never mind.
Paddy 66 Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 I can't see Rafa going to Real Madrid and accepting the level of boardroom interference that it would bring. Especially seeing as he left Valencia for exactly those reasons.
