Tyler Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 I think I'll have a bet on them for the World Cup. They will be my adopted country for the duration of it.
CarraLegend Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Thought our players had a nice break next week then realised these s***ty friendlies are being played. And the authorities moan about players being tired.
Cobs Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 the same number as Real Madrid and more than Barcelona & Valencia
CarraLegend Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 wot, no del Horno? He's s***, imo anyway.
Stevie H Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 Xabi should pull out. he may not play. senna is a new boy and is a brasilian-born who has just taken spanish citizenship, so he may well play the majority of the match so they can have a look at him.

It's not just the game, it's the surrounding b******s. Gerrard shouldn't go either and neither should John Riise.
matty Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 3 out of those 4 are pretty out of form. Hope for Spain's sake they pick up.
Boca Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Regardless he shouldn't travel. It's not just the game, it's the surrounding b******s. Gerrard shouldn't go either and neither should John Riise. So should these players bother playing for their country at all then ?
Knox_Harrington Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 So should these players bother playing for their country at all then ?Ideally no but we have to operate in the real world. Gerrard is carrying a knock and it would be better for club, country and Steven Gerrard if he gets some time to heal. Alonso has been off the boil a little recently and him not putting himself though any paces in Spain would help him. Norway haven't qualified for the world cup so if Riise could get himself the week off he'll be stronger.
Stevie H Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 Has Fabregas played for Spain before? no, first call-up.

I would be happy if none of our players played internationals but that's never going to happen.
Case Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Xabi should pull out. I agree, and I think he may well do. If her's not in our squad for Citeh I reckon Rafa will pull him out. If he is, I reckon Rafa will pull him out. I hope so, at least.
jimmylibel Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 no, first call-up. They'll probably give him a good run out so to see whether he should figure in their "World Cup plans". Hopefully this will mean very little involvement for Xabi.
Guest Barcamania Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 the same number as Real Madrid and more than Barcelona & Valencia I am surprised by the selection of coach There are many better players out there. For example, Morientes is s**** and why is he in the team? Del Horno is a good player, may be best available LB, he's underrated harshly.Juanito? He is s****. Where are players like Cani from Zaragoza? He's class.

Morientes is in the squad because he's got a terrific record at International record (like Baros for the Czech Rep). Del Horno's alright going forward but he's suspect as hell defensively - that's why Antonio Lopez is the current first choice LB at the minute. Capdevilla's a better defender too. Disagree about Juanito too, he's been one of the most consistent defenders around in Spain for years. The midfield looks very narrow, there's only Luis and Joaquin in there who you would class as wide players. Senna can play there, but's he's more a central midfielder these days, or was last the time I looked. I think you'll see Luis play midweek, probably wide left too.

I would agree if it's based on performance in La Liga, but in Chelsea he didn't make mustakes. Messi is a special boy and many classy defenders couldn't hold him. Otherwise, Del Horno was good, in fact better than Johnson or Bridge.People somehow come into conclusion, that he's s****, I don't get it. IMO, he's better than Antonio Lopez. Could you tell me matches where Del Horno was s**** defensively? In Chelsea he improved vastly, especially defensive abilities. Capdevilla? He isn't even in 1st eleven in Depor, sometimes. When it comes to midfield, i think Vicente must be there, but he's injured. And Spain use Reyes as a winger. IMO, Cani must be called, he's a superb little player, better than Luis for me( ).If coach wins with this squad, then he'll be hero, but if he fails, then everybody will be asking questions. And I think he is wrong with his selection.
Dule Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 What is up with Guti lately? Has the captaincy given him some more talent or something?
Ombudsam Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Cani must be called, he's a superb little player, he should have scored tonight but schitted out using his left What is up with Guti lately? Has the captaincy given him some more talent or something? he's a good player guti. just cos he's a fancy dan doesn't mean he lacks ability
Maldini Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Guti's always been hugely talented, it was always his attitude that was the problem
Ombudsam Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Guti's always been hugely talented, it was always his attitude that was the problem i agree with your agreeing with me
