Fagan Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I mean does he not realise when he's saying his incredulous stuff how unashamedly biased he is? And it's funny how he's now biased towards chelsea and it used to be the scum when they were top. Did anyone see what he said there when del horno got sent off. "I honestly think he just missed the ball by accident" Fookin t***, if that was one of our boys he'd be going to town on him
Hugh Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 In fairness he does favour the British teams in Europe. Remember "you beauty!" vs Olympiakos?
Guest RedLegend Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Sky's commentary has been comically biased tonight.
Billy Dane Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 aaaah the poor wee Scottish man, he's sounds heart broken.
Guest Red Mist Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Absolutely outrageous! The way they kept going on about Barcelona's divers, totally forgetting Chelsea do EXACTLY the same! And blaming Messi for getting Del Horno sent off was pretty low of Gray too. Del Horno himself rolled around like a girl after his ridiculous 'tackle' on Messi, yet they only pointed the finger of blame at the Argie. And how the f*** was Geremi's handball not a pen? He stopped the ball from reaching its target using his hand, it's as clear a penalty as you can get.Gray, the f***ing Evertonian c*** can sob away at the defeat of his beloved Chelsea. The rest of the worlds football fans will rejoice and celebrate brilliant Barca's humiliation of the rent boys.
dorgie Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Christ, how many times did he say "I have to say" tonight ? He gets more and more ridiculous each passing week and is really annoying now.

dorgie Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 And how the f*** was Geremi's handball not a pen? He stopped the ball from reaching its target using his hand, it's as clear a penalty as you can get. Exactly. This is an area where Gray makes a t*** of himself week in, week out. He is so inconsistent when it comes to commenting on hand ball decisions. FFS, Geremi came out and blocked it like a rugby player would, yet he says it was ball to hand
realtarragona Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Why are you all so angry? Chelsea are an English side in Europe. Hence the reason he is going to be biased.
Eskimo Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Yes Andy we did see Messi have a sly look to see where the ref was when he was on the deck but in all your excitement you failed to notice Del Horno do exactly the same...you twont.
DonRafa Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Why are you all so angry? Chelsea are an English side in Europe. Hence the reason he is going to be biased. s'funny, he must have forgotten Liverpool is in England in last year's comp. At best he damned us with faint praise, and we were 'lucky' this and 'lucky' that. He's a mealy mouthed bitter, always was, always will be. The great 'expert'? Bah! More a case of the king has got no clothes on. Danish king
Gilps Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Why are you all so angry? Chelsea are an English side in Europe. and he's a jock
Guest Red Mist Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Another thing, did you hear him try to excuse Del Horno's 'challenge' on Messi, aiming his studs into Messi's knees? Unbelivable! That's a sort of challenge that could destroy a footballers knee and subsequently their careers yet Gray accused the ref of being fussy for penalising Del Horno for that horrendous challenge.
oakie bob Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 did i not hear andy gray say on barca's 2nd goal that the chelski player should have took him out and got a yellow card
Earl Hafler Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Christ, how many times did he say "I have to say" tonight ? He gets more and more ridiculous each passing week and is really annoying now. If i'm being honest, i have to say there's absolutely no doubt about that.
anny road Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 he came out with some gems tonight On Chelsea's goal...."I told you earlier clear the ball" he cant hear you Andy you t*** Then he laughs off the stone wall pen at the end And he said the SWP should have brought a player down and got a yellow in the build up to Barca 2nd goal Oh well...So Del Horno got done a little by Messi What goes around comes around eh Jose?
Guz Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 s'funny, he must have forgotten Liverpool is in England in last year's comp. More a case of the king has got no clothes on. Danish king You must watch the game with mute on. Wait till we're battering Benfica in 2 weeks time in the last 20mins and looking for one goal we need to qualify. He'll be like a Liverpool fan.
George Costanza Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 would it be wrong to not wish the scottish c*** a safe journey home
slapnuts Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 The handball in Chelsea box was not a pen? but the free kick chelsea got was just the same really. Just before Del Horno clattered that Missi dopey Robben went in 2 footed lucky he missed him.
chrisbonnie Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 i cant watch a game on sky if its on another channel, thankfully, RTE had the match on tonight, along with the best football punditry on the bloody planet cant stand sky, Gray is easily thr worst commentator ive ever heard their only shining light is Niall Quinn, even redders can be a bit pricky, remember him saying it was fine for his obese cousin to shush the Kop, hard to beleive an ex captain actually said that
Fagan Posted February 22, 2006 Author Posted February 22, 2006 (edited) love the way he laughed off terry's rugby tackle on messi also. THE most blatant peno ive seen in a long long time. if that had happened to chelsea there would have been absolute war. dislike him immensely, i've no problem with him rooting for the home teams, none at all, but blatant bias and ignoring stone wall incidents and highlighting others to suit your bias is not exactly what he should get paid all that wad for i cant watch a game on sky if its on another channel, thankfully, RTE had the match on tonight, along with the best football punditry on the bloody planet cant stand sky, Gray is easily thr worst commentator ive ever heard their only shining light is Niall Quinn, even redders can be a bit pricky, remember him saying it was fine for his obese cousin to shush the Kop, hard to beleive an ex captain actually said that agreed RTE's stuff is the best by a country mile, honest punditry with no one afraid to launch a scathing attack on a payers behaviour where its warranted. the problem with ar*seholes like gray is he wants to be all mates with them so he can go for a drink with them after the game is finished Edited February 22, 2006 by Afgan
realtarragona Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I could have sworn he said that it was a penalty when Terry was all over Messi.
Behind Enemy Lines Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I caught part of the game on Sky, the rest on Radio 5.The contrast in the views on the sending off where vast;Sky - (Gray) the ref had it wrong, he had been 'done' by Messi & the Barca players in generalRadio 5 - (Alan Green & Graham Taylor) the ref had no choice, nast challange, harsh but understandable Having seen it myself I go with the 'harsh but understandable' view
Jambo Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I don't think I've ever heard worse commentary in my life. Gray was just terrible, his self-assurance and arrogance as he handed down bulls*** upon bulls*** would have been funny if it wasn't SO f***ING HATEFUL But just as bad was that twit Hawthorne with his constant harping on that Chelsea weren't being treated equally by the ref. I mean one biased idiot you can just about get away with, especially if he's meant to be there as an 'analyst' (ha!) with opinions to share. But you might expect a fricking commentator to at least TRY to be even handed. It all made their defeat oh so much sweeter. And what a relief to hear the 5 Live commentary replayed this morning, Alan Green calling it exactly right, and me realising I wasn't the only one in the world who thought it was a sending off. Not least cos Del Horno tried to chop him down at least twice in the preceding minutes. Bunch o' c**ts - hope you get feckin thrashed in Barca
