Leo No.8 Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 ...how f*cking weak is he? Got muscled off the ball again and again last night, and was a big reason we failed to retain possession after his introduction. I'm starting to think the reason he doesn't go past players despite his pace, is he knocks it past and gets eased off the ball due to his lack of strength. He looks like he should be strong by his build, so what's going on? Woeful touch, can't finish to save his life, lazy and now when he gets the ball into his feet he looks like a stiff breeze would blow him over. You certainly don't get a lot of value for £14m these days do you...
Guest Disintegration Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Perhaps it's psychological after his injury?
realtarragona Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 He's very quick and he hits the ball hard. There's very little else to his game.
Hassony Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 fowler and morientes used their pace and strength so much better yesterday!!!
Tosh Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Not one of them (including Garcia/Kewell) managed to "trap" the ball for most of the game It was like watching Heskey at his worst at times 2nd half. At one point Cisse tried to control the ball and it went further than a Carra clearance.
Bigal Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 We looked toothless with moro, fowler and cisse, its not all his fault
Leo No.8 Posted February 22, 2006 Author Posted February 22, 2006 We looked toothless with moro, fowler and cisse, its not all his fault No I know it wasn't, but I just didn't realise how feeble he was. When I think of what that £14m could have got us, it makes me feel ill.
Gilps Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Perhaps it's psychological after his injury? Or perhaps he's just not very good. Btw - why do you put that arrow on every one of your posts?

Billy Dane Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 When Cisse first arrived he was very confident (could use cocky and arrogant), he was used to being No 1, hadn't really experienced failure in his carrer. Since joining us it has all gone pear shaped for him. Rafa decided that he didn't fit in with the style of play he wanted from the team and has tried to sell him at every opportunity. Cisse's confidence has been shot to pieces, which you can see whenever he gets on the pitch. He hasn't handled the situation well, which has made it worse for him, and barring a miracle I think he will be off in the summer. Rafa clearly doesn't want him, he has given plenty of public support for Crouch and Morientes but very little (if any) to Cisse. I think Cisse will do very well at his next club, if he gets a manager who will manage him differently, e.g. make him feel special and all the touchy feely stuff Rafa doesn't appear to indulge in.

During a match i keep thinking how we could use someone with pace to compliment Morientes, Crouch or Fowler and that the only player we have like that is Cisse ( Sinama being on loan ) Trouble is he's just like a drag racer. No steering or control at all, just hit the button and go.
Ombudsam Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 was too pissed to take in the game properly so won't have a go at cisse for tonight but he is shyte and came on and contributed to ruining my birthday.
Stevie H Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 cissé seems to offer absolutely nothing whenever he plays, be it from the bench or from the start. total waste of space these days.

Absolutely. If his next manager can sort out Cisse's finishing, work-rate, touch, strength and movement he'll be onto a winner...
Guest Anders Honoré Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 cissé seems to offer absolutely nothing whenever he plays, be it from the bench or from the start. total waste of space these days. You could say that about all our strikers. he has had some good games on the right recently, but it doesn't disguise that he has more poor than good apperances.
Ombudsam Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 (edited) some lad called milanbaros is about to make an absurdly biased point about our strikers i'm guessing Edited February 22, 2006 by sammya
Stevie H Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 You could say that about all our strikers. no you couldn't. crouch, morientes and fowler all at least show regularly for the ball and link up play. cissé doesn't look remotely arsed about getting above a canter when chasing a ball, and that's about it.
Alonso Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I wonder what the most amount of touches Cisse has taken before he's scored? Can't imagine it'd be many more than 4.
Ombudsam Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 some lad called milanbaros is about to make an absurdly biased point about our strikers i'm guessing oh he didn't write it now my point looks silly.
Bootle Buck Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 I think the lads attitude is all wrong. When he is given a chance instead of showing what he has he seems hell bent on showing he isn't happy. He rarely chases after balls and never looks a real threat. Granted he does his proverbial run down the wing and put in a poor cross routine but very little else. IMO he knows he is out the door and therefore can't be arsed.

In which case I wish Rafa would stop playing him. He can't be playing him to get his value up - cos it must be dropping by the week at this rate. Cisse's a waste of space.
Andyjandy Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 He's very quick and he hits the ball hard. There's very little else to his game. IF he did'nt play for us and we had him scouted thats the line we would get back on him. Thats the concensus on him throughout Anfield, he is gone ASAP.

Guest Jack Bauer Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 His best games have come out on the right. I'd rather we stuck Garcia upfront than him. He rarely makes intelligent runs, and whenever no one spots a good run he has made he gives up making them. 14 million
