Jezzman Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Ferguson after Saturdays game: "Liverpool can play for only five minutes and win the game, that is the way they are, they pump the ball into the box and with good set-piece deliveries they keep you under pressure" Rafa's reply yesterday: "If we can win a game in five minutes against a top team just think how much more terrible damage there would be if we played for the other 85 minutes."
Guest Kev Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 I like that nickname............RafaTollah

Walrus Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 (edited) Considering what happened at Old Trafford, that Fergie quote is like 10.000 spoons when all you need is a knife. Edited February 21, 2006 by Walrus
Stew F Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Fergie has found a black fly in his Gin & Tonic
Snoeker Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Considering what happened at Old Trafford, that Fergie quote is like 10.000 spoons when all you need is a knife. that 30 seconds at OT when they absolutely battered us.

Puma Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 I like that nickname............RafaTollah I don't. I think the association doesn't do Rafa justice at all.
Dule Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 What s***s me is that if we played for 5 minutes in his eyes then how much did they play for?? FFS we had the ball for the entire first half and could of been 2 up easily before half time. The second half was a tactic of ours to soak up some pressure.
Alonso Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 What annoys me is these quotes from Queiroz after the Old Trafford game: United's assistant coach Carlos Queiroz said: "The game was tight and difficult for both sides - but today was Manchester United's. "We worked hard as a team and played 90 minutes with one thing in our mind, which was to score one goal and not to allow Liverpool to score. "Both teams were very rigid with their systems and their movement in the first half but in the second half we opened up the game because we knew if we didn't take risks it would be impossible to score. "That is exactly what we did. The players knew we had to go forward and create space and put the ball behind the Liverpool defence. "We knew that by giving them the apparent control of the game we were able to create more space and counter attack and find the right moments and the right places to damage Liverpool. "And I think it worked. It was something that fits the profile of our players. We started to create opportunities. "Our goal came in the last minute but we had another opportunity before then too. The plan worked, we did well and we deserved to win." Double standrads me thinks?
Bootle Buck Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 I can't wait for the day when Rafa's English is good enough for him too really take the piss out of the media. He still gets his point over even when things maybe don't come out the way he would want it too. Two years from now they won't know what's hit them.

Methinks his mastery of the English language is now a lot better than he wants to let on. In his TV interviews especially he likes to smile a lot and say very little - Mourinhos seen right through it though and knows that he is his most dangerous opponent.
