growler Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 20 home games, 17 clean sheets, 6 conceded of which 4 were against chelsea in a freak game, and 1 was an own goal. the other, was in the early qualifying rounds of the cup, when the tie was won. I think opposing players will now again fear the 'this is anfield' sign.
floyd the barber Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 ok statos....where are you all ! so whats the least amount of goals we have conceded at home in all competitions in a single season???
Ste M Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Best I've seen so far is the 78-79 season where we conceded 4 at Anfield all season. Scored 51. F*ck me.
Romario Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 That's really impressive. People who get on Riise's back should take a look at these stats!
Ste M Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Checked through every season - the best is the 78-79 season. I've seen a six, an eight, a nine, and a couple of tens. Do you know that we conceded less goals at home under Evans in a couple of seasons than we ever did under Ged?
Gunga Din Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 (edited) we only conceded 4 league goals in a season at Anfield in the late 70's. i cant remember the year though Edited February 20, 2006 by big wayne

Herbie von Smalls Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 that wasn't in the premiership, so those statistics are meaningless. apparently
floyd the barber Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 and statos, whats our record overall for least goals conceded in a single season...
surf Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 How big was the squad in those days? Did we have 20 odd players to pick from, or was it the same 16 or so every game?
Guz Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 and statos, whats our record overall for least goals conceded in a single season... 16 isn't it, which Chelsea beat last season (but in a 38 game season)

Walrus Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 More importantly, when is the last tie we have conceded four goals in a league game at Anfield? Before Chelsea that is...
Kahnee Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 that wasn't in the premiership, so those statistics are meaningless.apparently Not just meaningless, but fictitious. Before Sky, football was only played in gardens and parks
MarkD Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 More importantly, when is the last tie we have conceded four goals in a league game at Anfield? Before Chelsea that is... Can't think of a league game. Chesterfield in League Cup?
Joshytoohotty Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Do you know that we conceded less goals at home under Evans in a couple of seasons than we ever did under Ged? Do you mean more goals?
anny road Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Can't think of a league game. Chesterfield in League Cup? theres only one Istvan Kozma
MarkD Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 theres only one Istvan KozmaMore people saw him play in that game than tickets sold to see the Kray killing in the Blind Beggar pub.
Bigal Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 chelsea away and leeds away in the treble season. But that was away.
