20 home games, 17 clean sheets, 6 conceded

20 home games, 17 clean sheets, 6 conceded of which 4 were against chelsea in a freak game, and 1 was an own goal.

the other, was in the early qualifying rounds of the cup, when the tie was won.

I think opposing players will now again fear the 'this is anfield' sign.

Checked through every season - the best is the 78-79 season. I've seen a six, an eight, a nine, and a couple of tens.

Do you know that we conceded less goals at home under Evans in a couple of seasons than we ever did under Ged?

it was mentioned above as being the 78-79 season, how many games did we play at home that season?

42 league games, 4 goals conceded. We also conceded 1 in the super cup against Anderlecht. Total of 25 home games.

How big was the squad in those days? Did we have 20 odd players to pick from, or was it the same 16 or so every game?

and statos, whats our record overall for least goals conceded in a single season...

16 isn't it, which Chelsea beat last season (but in a 38 game season)

04.11.1978 1 - 1 Leeds United Anfield 1st Division

03.02.1979 2 - 1 WBA Anfield 1st Division

13.03.1979 1 - 1 Everton Anfield 1st Division

How these worthies have fallen....

that wasn't in the premiership, so those statistics are meaningless.

apparently :hmm:

Not just meaningless, but fictitious. Before Sky, football was only played in gardens and parks

More importantly, when is the last tie we have conceded four goals in a league game at Anfield? Before Chelsea that is...

Can't think of a league game. Chesterfield in League Cup?
