Time for a blood substitute in football ?

I actually didn't know that Peter Crouch had gone off with a cut above his head. How long were we down to 10 men ?

Should football introduce the 'blood substitute' that have in rugby ?

dunno, yes but only for blood or you could get teams cheating.

imagine if you used all your subs and had to make another change - you could get one of your players to feign serious injury and get another replacement on

surely where you've used all your subs you just put Baros back on?

Was saying this exact same thing to my lass on Sat. Ridiculous that we/anybody have to go 5-10mins with 10 men because the rules say he has to go off.

with the correct acting you could actually replace the entire team

But if there is no blood showing........................you cannot feign blood.

blood capsules...like in films.

mourinho would do it.

That was to attempt to abandon the match though, different scenerio.

it still shows you can feign blood.

They should make the ref taste it to see if it's genuine

A blood sub could be allowed up until the manager has used his three permanent replacements. After that no one is allowed on.

It was something I was thinking about on Saturday. As in rugby there would have to be a time limit. I think they have ten minutes? Something like five minutes for a couple of stitches or a bandage would be fine.

If i remember correctly, a similiar incident happened was in the 1989 Copa America when the Chilean keeper Roberto Rojas was alleged to have faked blood in their match against Brazil and was suspended for life or something like that. Chile i think got thrown out of Italia 90.

FFS OK.

If a player is bleeding from the head and his name is Peter Crouch and he plays for Liverpool, should the club be allowed to bring on a blood substitute ?
