I really wish this forum was around in the late 70's and through 80's....Anyon who knows me knows that I feel that Everton are our true enemy, but the feelings I have for Manchester United are as strong and for different reasons..

I grew up in Warrington, totally border territory, where Mancs and Liverpool fans make up probably 85% of support....Through junior school, High School and then boozing it the pub virtually every day consisted of me arguing with United fans...

The one thing that stands out with them is this ridiculous sense of superiority they have....Even when we were the most succesful side in the country, and we were winning European Cups (thats plural Manc c***s), they would try to laud it over us.

I know I am a wool......But I feel Scouse, and you can slag me off for that but I dont care....When you feel the way that I do about LFC you cannot help but feel a love for Liverpool (the place) deep in your heart...Sure it isnt MY City, but it is MY football club...So i take it on myself everytime I hear some g******* trying to bring Liverpool FC, Liverpool the place and Scousers down I stand my corner....I have taken some abuse in my time, and I have dished some out.....

So from where I stand, it is very difficult to describe the feeling when we go to Old Trafford.....I have seen every game bar one there since the mid 70's...and each and everyone of them has made me sick to the pit of my stomach...When we used to get the old Scoreboard End and have dog s*** and bags of piss thrown on us, or the lovely GMP giving you a dig in your sides on the way out...Say anything and you get nicked...The Police Escort suddenly dissapearing on Warwick Road and all hell breaking loose.........Getting legged outside Piccadilly with no Police around....Having Murderers shouted at you left right and centre

Coming back to Warrington and listening to all manner of crap about "self pity City" and "Bin dippers, granny stabbers"..thief jokes...and they dont even understand the f***ing irony of coming from a City that has Hulme, Moss Side, East Bradford, Salford and Openshaw.........

And listen to s**** about the "Theatre of Dreams" and being the "Biggest Club in the World " blahdy f***ing bah....the deitification of Rooney but no-one mentions that he hast scored this side of the last Preston Guild...yet Motson managed to get Crouchy not scoring in 8 AFTER his f***ing goal today......

But worst of all is coming out onto that forecourt, with random punches being thrown and pissed up thick Mancs wading in in men, women and kids with the GMP standing watching with there video camera's...Neanderthal inbred c***s milling round looking for trouble and lauding it about how s*** Liverpool is, and how wonderful whatever s*** hole they come from is..Wythenshawe or Ordsall or Milton Keynes ir wherever

So Alan Smith..A man who has betrayed his football club and his roots...a SCAB in the true sense of the word, someone who I wouldnt piss on if he was on fire....Who masterminded a disgrace of a transfer to his old clubs bitterest rivals....breaks his leg....well dont expect me to shed any tears for him...I am sure there wont be any tears shed in Leeds tonight

Sorry if this is strong, but I have just watched the game again.....a performance from us that wasnt great in a footballing sense, but one where every man stood up and was counted...When someone like Harry Kewell is throwing himself around and rattling that t*** Neville....I was proud of them all......

I love my Football Club...I love Liverpool.....and I f***ing despise everything they stand for.....

So do i but what happened to Smith wasnt' something i like to see.

You've obviously been closer to the melting pot than i have. It's easier for me to be objective.

Good shout lad.

Too many have never braved the Concourse but seem to know it all. Nothing but contempt for all of them. I've only missed one at Old Toilet since 1967 so I know what horrible twunts they are.

Don't like to see any player injured but it's not one of ours. Sorry it happened but tomorrow I'll have forgotten.

Posted (edited)

I have to confess that although I wouldn't wish that kind of injury on most (it might be a tad hypocritical to say 'anyone' as there are one or two I would be ambivalent about ;)) I don't understand where all this 'Alan Smith is a good honest lad ' type crap has come from.

I agree - he left his hometown club to go for their most hated rivals and now kisses THAT badge (when he can find it) with as much apparent passion as he once did the Leeds one. After Keane and Vieira, while still short of his prime so to speak, he has been sent off more than any other player and caused his share of seriously nasty injuries. He's petulant, traitorous, a gobby twunt and about as likeable as a pubic rash.

So - sorry about your leg Alan, but only about as sorry as you've been for some of the things you've done.

Also as said by Scally Bob - anyone who has braved the Toilet etc over the years, been pelted with everyting from cups, darts and glass bottles in the old days to whatever they can lay their hands on thesedays will be circumspect in their empathy - to put it mildly.

Agre with most of it but I don't want to see players injured like that - being taken off on a stretcher and needing oxygen........I mean - Smith isn't even a 'real' manc, everybody knows that he's a Leeds boy and sold his soul.............temporarily.

Sounding bitter there.

You cant blame all that on Smith.

I knew Liverpool fans would clap him on his way off.

If it was the other way round at OT a Liverpool player wouldnt get applauded. Yes, we all know that. No chance!

Im a City fan and have been to watch Liverpool, at Anfield, on a few occasions (not just against City). Liverpool fans often applaud good play by the opposition.

I have also been to OT a few times (again, not just against City) and the ManU fans get bitter when the other team play well and say things like "you'll pay for that later"

Do you want to be bitter like the plastics, or a proper footbal fan like Liverpool fans?

Take your choice mate, it looks like you have done anyway!

Good win they barely got a sniff.

Next week'll be different though! :bleh:

With all due respect, mate, what do you know about 'olden days'?

I certainly have no fecking idea what you're talking about.

Anny can feel however he wants - that's his perogative, but don't spout rubbish like the 'olden days of football made a comeback today'

I mean the atmosphere I never experienced anything like it, but by the sound of my dad when he came in, something was special today, the crowd, I do not know what it is but the crowd and the team performed as one.

No self respect no nothing, just football and a f***in amazing crowd
