Romario Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Frustration is more what I feel. Fair play to the lads beating Arsenal but why do we have this small time mentality!?Raising our game against the big boys and letting it slip against s***teams?! Can our players not see the bigger picture? Beating Brum and Charlton and losing against the a*** is what we should be looking at doing at worst.Instead our players save temselves for Arsenal and lose the others. Tonight result annoys me as it shows yet again what could have been. It's so frustrating. Obviously it's a great result and we deserved it (f*** I was sweating at the end) but it's kind of a hollow victory in one way for me. Not sure why the great football and excellent passing has got me down so tonight!

M4TTA Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 fustrating? maybe yes, but cmon, weve just pulled ourselves right back in in to get 2nd

Dule Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Romario i dont know where you are coming from. All the games we have dropped points in over the last 5 games we have been the better side. Our problem has not be attitude, or effort but finishing. I sadly thought it would be the same case tonight, however we were lucky that Luis was on hand to put away what our strikers seem be unable in doing.
Knox_Harrington Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Overreaction. We've been beaten five times this season. Twice by Chelsea, once by United, once by Fulham and once by Charlton. When we went on our ten game run all we heard was "Well, let's see how we do against the big boys".

Not sure why the great football and excellent passing has got me down so tonight! tbh I think the real thing to worry about is our finishing. While I am relieved that we won, I'm worried that when we play the mancs our finishing could potentially cost us as we will be up against Van der Saar whos quite a good keeper. I think rafa should between now and saturday work with the strikers and midfielders with their shooting coz in terms of passing and defending I think we're all right. Also I think Garcia should start as well. He has a knack of scoring goals on the big occasions
Romario Posted February 14, 2006 Author Posted February 14, 2006 fustrating? maybe yes, but cmon, weve just pulled ourselves right back in in to get 2nd We could be second and went out and lost tonight. Or been second and added anoter 3 points.I just think it's strange that games in hand against lesser teams = 0 points for us. I don't understand it. Anyway it was a great win and helps us to a top 4 finish. Overreaction. We've been beaten five times this season. Twice by Chelsea, once by United, once by Fulham and once by Charlton. When we went on our ten game run all we heard was "Well, let's see how we do against the big boys". Very good point. I think I was getting carried away and when the bubble burst.....
Tosh Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Romario (seems odd saying that without it being...) We have done well against these "lesser" sides all season but for the past couple of games. Last year we dropped points at places like Southampton as we could not win away This year we have improved a lot. Yes we can raise our game, and yes we were poor v Brum, but some credit to them, please. We lost to Chelsea and ManU in that little three game run of defeats.
Cunny Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 If you class the big 3 as Chelsea, Mancs and Arsenal - tonight was our first win against any of them this season. So your arguement is nonsense.Generally we have beaten most of the teams you'd expect us to beat.
