Liverpool Football Club would like to apologise to those fans that had problems booking seats online for our upcoming FA Cup game against Manchester United.

 

 

 

Last Thursday morning we had a software problem that caused us issues; we have been working with our software provider since Thursday morning to resolve these problems.

 

 

 

Our system shows that you were one of those people who managed to access the site but struggled to complete your transaction. In view of this situation and having resolved the problems with the software house we would like to give you the opportunity to purchase up to two tickets for the game, subject to you providing us with two valid Fan Card numbers.

 

 

 

This offer is none transferable and only available until 4pm on Tuesday 14th February.

 

 

 

Should you wish to take up this offer please reply to this email with a contact telephone number and we call you to complete the transaction. Emails received after the deadline will not be processed.

Hard to say whether is genuine or not. There may be more clues in the headers of the mail, but I'd say that as long as the only thing you have to do is give them a contact phone number, you've nothing to lose...

The tickets are already reserved - the problem with the system was when people were trying to buy tickets the system would often hang between choosing tickets and the payment page or confirmation page. Usually the tickets are reserved for 5 minutes to allow you to log in again and successfully complete payment - if you don't get there in time those tickets are removed from your order history. Last week for whatever reason the system wasn't deleting these reserved tickets so hundreds, possibly thousands, were never sold. I had an extra 4 tickets on my order history, I know others with 7 or 8.

got the phone call got 2 tickets in the kop!

 

 

and my call came earlier and got lumbered with the Upper Centenary. Still in's in etc. They did not generally offer people the tickets they had selected when the system went down. I still had Kop tickets on my history but when they rang it was Upper Cent. That should wake up some of the old boys up there :)
