Rory Fitzgerald Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 riise deserves a mention as well. Riise has not benefitted at all from the 'rotation' at left back and the re-emergence of Harry Kewell. Think Riise deserves another stint at LB for a series of games
Guest Anders Honoré Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 it can only be gerrard. Finnan has been impeccable, but Gerrard's influence on games is just so much greater than anyone in the team are capable of bar Xabi, there is no comparison. He is also on course to be the fourth midfielder in club history to score more than 20 goals in one season. notable mentions to carra, sami and reina apart from those two.
Bootle Buck Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Gerrard edges it with his goal tally 2. Finnan3. Carra/Sammi/Reina
Earl Hafler Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Finnan and Riise were in my top 3 last year and have been very good again this season. Hyypia started the season in excellent form but like almost everyone else has suffered since Christmas. Gerrard has played brilliantly in some games but disappointing in others. Carra seems to have suffered from playing far too much football and making more istakes than usual but still making last ditch tackles and, on the whole, playing well. Reina has been very good and i'm so glad we bought him. Finnan and Hyypia for me so far ( and i've laid into the old oil tanker in the past ! )
Paul B Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Gerrard, Carragher and Finnan after a play-off for 2nd and 3rd.
floyd the barber Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 gerrard i think should win it and will.. But a special mention to sami hyypia who many were writing off before the start of the season, he really has been superb this season with performances rivalling that of the treble season.. and regarding carra, personally feel hes been a bit inconsistent this season..
Benzo-13 Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Finnan for me. Impeccable at times. A typical Rafa 7 or 8 outta 10 player.Gerrard second, just to give the rest a chance...
nd Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Gerrard edges it with his goal tally 2. Finnan3. Carra/Sammi/Reina Exactly my choices, and the same reason for including Gerrard at no.1. 18 goals from midfield already this season is pretty special: a nice reminder of the times of Barnes and Molby.
Gunga Din Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Gerrard, and anyone suggesting otherwise needs their head read. some players may have played above themselves, but Gerrard at 75% is still better than most of our players at 100%

Jonesy Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I agree totally, and by the way, I seen you at Wigan on Saturday, tried to get your attention as you were climbing the steps but you were concentrating. He was wondering why he was in the wrong lane. I on the other hand made a break for the other lane. Nearly went a*** over t** on the seats an all. Gerrard for me an all......by a country mile
fyds Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 GerrardFinnanHyypiaPretty much agree with that - though Reina deserves a mention.
Guest Red Mist Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Carra's hardly put a foot wrong this season, our defence would be nothing without him. Carra for me.
Elisha_Scott Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 our defence would be nothing without him. Carra for me. What about Finnan, Hyypia and Reina? Thats very harsh
