Likewise after the 2001 final we had good experiences with the Arsenal fans.

In all honesty little Mikey snatched that cup for us from the worthy winners, they battered us that day - it must have been a horrible way to lose, but their fans took it really well.

I'd probably say out of every set of English fans I've found them to be the most likeable.

Class, they're alright most of the Gooners.

I watched the "Dalglish" part of the LFC Official History DVD today, and the Hillsborough bit had me welling up,so much so that I completely forgot about Michael Thomas's winner at Anfield.

I remember thinking at the time that post Hillsborough I would rather we pulled out of the FA Cup and concentrated on the league.

we had a laugh and a sing song with some gooners after the league game down there last season

until Sutty got us kicked out for singing

Yeah but the bouncer was a music-lover so you can't blame him! ;)

I was thinking about our relationship with Arsenal the other day actually. We have more in common with them these days as both do not like Chelsea or Manure. Bit of an us against them fourball matchplay going on at the moment.

Where I grew up almost all were Arsenal fans, certainly amongst my friends anyway. I watch Arsenal for two full seasons back then with friends (post '89) and found their fans to be alright also.

Didn't switch though. Oh no.

Enjoyed watching Dean Saunders score a penalty at the North Bank end for Derby one year - think LFC won the title that year also. I felt very smug.

Also watched LFC get stuffed 4-0 though. Train ride home surrounded by Gooners wasn't fun, safe, but not fun.

Those were the days.........

Arsenal fans seem to be the ones I socialise with outside of my normal LFC clique.

They're an alright bunch mostly. We do have a lot more in common with them, especially being football traditionalists and winning stuff.

Arsenal are alright. They try to play good football and if it wasn't for them ManUre would be one title away from our record!

Their players handed out flowers to our fans after Hillsbrough, which I thought was a nice touch. Just before they won the title at Anfield, the jammy feckers.

Their fans on the whole are decent too.

Seem to have more humility than any of the other teams with ourselves of course being the exception.

I've found you can actually talk about football to Arsenal fans and I never felt any begrudging sentiment about the way they have won their trophies under Wenger.
