Stevie H Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 sissoko vs diaby could be good for a laugh. or are the a*** likely to put fabregas back into the middle and bring in pires / ljungberg?
fred milne Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 sissoko vs diaby could be good for a laugh.I don't think you can drop Didi after his performance on Saturday.
Bigal Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 easily bullied by chelsea, we should play stevie in the middle and try and do the same
Stevie H Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 I don't think you can drop Didi after his performance on Saturday. inclined to agree, fred. we keep the ball so much better when he's in there. easily bullied by chelsea, we should play stevie in the middle and try and do the same they'll probably have a 19 year old midfielder at left-back though. stevie could annihalate him.
Guest Kev Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I don't think you can drop Didi after his performance on Saturday. Yes but no but yes but no. Didi's game I believe is more suited to away games when we know that we will be under pressure. At home when we need to press forward is not when he has his better games.

I'd go Gerrard right, Hamann and Alonso with Kewell left and 2 up front (Fowler and Crouch) Edited February 13, 2006 by sutty

I want to see fabregas hurt though. To be honest, I think we dont need our best player out wide. Stevie was very dangerous in the centre last time when we beat them last minute

Gilps Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Yep, Crouch in for Morientes, but otherwise same as Wigan.
AE Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Yes but no but yes but no. Didi's game I believe is more suited to away games when we know that we will be under pressure. At home when we need to press forward is not when he has his better games. Arsenal will need to come at us though. We may not have the best record up front, but their defense is a shambles. They can't afford to sit back too much or we WILL pick them off. 'arry, Xabi, Didi, Steve assuming Luis isn't fit.
Stevie H Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 garcia's a good shout as it goes 'cos arsenal really don't have a protector in between their defence and midfield. kewell to get at flamini as well.
Snoeker Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 What are the odds on a 3 minute God hat trick?
Mikey Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Keeping the ball is a good way to play anywhere Kev. I'd go Gerrard right, Hamann and Alonso with Kewell left and 2 up front (Fowler and Crouch)Do you not think that centrally we lack pace and movement to cope with Arsenals passing game? I would go with DC/LG, SG, MS, HK Don't laugh, overpower them through the middle and keep their wide men defending. We are at home and if we win Arsenal are realistically out of the run for 2nd and 3rd place.
Montse Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 What you can put money on is the fact that we may have worked out the team but Rafa will come along with a surprise package like Warnock at LB or play Moro on his own up front. He does this for the big games, never seems to go for the strongest available team - I'd love to see Crouch and Fowler start that could scare the living daylights out of their back 4!
Barnes' left foot Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Warnock at LB That's what worries me. I really hope he sticks with Riise at LB.
Stevie H Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 I'm laughing at you not picking Alonso. i'm laughing at him picking cissé in midfield having spent the last two days calling him a lazy c***.
CarraLegend Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 http://breakingnews.iol.ie/sport/story.asp...614936&t=soccer Striker Peter Crouch is still a doubt for Liverpool?s home league game with Arsenal. Crouch missed Saturday?s win at Wigan with a heel injury and boss Rafael Benitez will monitor the England man in training before making a last-minute decision. Luis Garcia, out with a knee problem, is ?closer? to fitness says Benitez, while Stephen Warnock has recovered from a groin injury. Jose Reina serves the last of his three match ban for being sent off at Chelsea. Squad: Dudek, Finnan, Hyypia, Agger, Carragher, Warnock, Traore, Riise, Gerrard, Alonso, Sissoko, Hamann, Kewell, Crouch, Cisse, Fowler, Morientes, Carson, Kromkamp
Mikey Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 i'm laughing at him picking cissé in midfield having spent the last two days calling him a lazy c***.If LG isn't fit I'm struggling to find anyone to play RM and let SG play in the middle! And I'm sure I never used that term!!!!!
Stevie H Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 In any big game Alonso, Gerrard, Carra and Hyppia will all play. I'd be stunned if Alonso doesn't start. i'd question rafa's sanity.
Gilps Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I would hope that a badly depleted Arsenal side will be coming to Anfield with a little more apprehension than they've felt for a few years. Alonso's is one of three or four names who's absence from the teamsheet would give them quite a lift. There is absolutely no sense in doing so.

Leo No.8 Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 i'd question rafa's sanity. I'd favour two destroyers in the centre personally. Out of interest - would people not question Alonso's effectiveness at times as this season has gone on? He started off fantastic, but I think at times he has struggled to have a real impact, despite his ever superb passing.
cymrococh Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 I think teams have found him out so he gets less time on the ball. Arsenal may be one side where he will have a bit more joy in the middle.
