Win ugly

Makes a change for us to win ugly. It was a very poor pitch. Am I the only one who thinks it was no accident that this win coincided with the reappearance of Hamann? I thought he played well today. He gives us something that Sissoko doesn't yet. Let's hope Didi gets a few more games in!

I think he will. Sissoko has done brilliantly overall for his first season in a tough new league. But we're entering the part of the season where experience and nous counts for more than energy and willingness. Didi has both to spare, and he's fresh. Saving him for the second half of the season *could* be a very canny move by Rafa.

i thought Hamann was immense...

as I said I havnt seen it on tv but live, on the left had side nr the dug outs was bordering on unplayable

I am having no criticism of our play today...that surface was unacceptable

it led to xabi spraying passes (although he works his balls off)...and Stevie not playing well

but the fact that Didi and to a lesser extent Robbie kept there composure was fantastic

Loads of the games in our winning streak were us winning "ugly"

loads?

loads?

Man City (a) 1-0

Luton Town (a) 5-3

Spurs (h) 1-0

a couple of others could be added to the list too I suppose, Sunderland away, Villa away, comfortable wins but nothing too inspiring

Id play Hamann in most away games until the end of the season, his passing his much better than Sissoko at the moment and hes much less likely to do anything rash and leave us with 10 men.

Sissoko has already proved he will become an important player for us, but he needs to work on certain aspects of his game. Hes very young and im sure Rafa is aware of the areas he needs to improve on, in that position though Didi is an excellent player to learn off.

One of the highlights of the TV coverage was the picture of RAFA bringing the ball under control :D I too, would like to know what games we won 'ugly' during our long winning run....

Spurs (h) 1-0

The Luton game was exciting, something you could not accuse yesterday's match of being. And even their pitch was better than Wigan's.

Man City was a run of the mill away game & it was a local derby

Luton was a fantastic game of football

Spurs we played very well against a food side

Didn't think they were that fat overall. Or has Delia joined the bord at White Hart Lane?

Xabi hasn't had a good game since the Luton game. He even seems to be struggling with his short passes. Granted the pitches we are playing on are mainly s**** but a player of his quality should still stand above the rest. When Xabi is on our whole team playes better. Gerrard provides the energy and drive but Xabi certainly controls our tempo. We need him back at his best.

City we never really sparked or dominated, it was very similar to last season when they beat us an even game decided by one good goal.

Luton was a fantastic game of football alright, but only because we stopped playing for 30 minutes after we scored.

Spurs we played well for the first half but switched off after half time and had to grind out a result.
